I got to drive my 1988 convertible as the chase car at the Progressive Insurance Automotive X-Prize awards day yesterday. Led the 3 winning cars through DC from the Historic Society to the Capitol building grounds. Here's one pic from the day with the nose of my (somewhat beat up) RX-7 and the Capitol Building behind

So, of the two I've seen listed here, Insane Racing, and Unique precision rotary, which would you guys recommend? I live in Baltimore right now, but I'm looking for a good Rotary shop to help me get my 85 GSL-SE up and running.

Insane Racing is not a rotary shop. They do exhausts and chassis fabrication, cages, super/turbocharger plumbing etc. If you asked Jeff what to do with a rotary engine he'd probably use it to prop open a door. That guy builds some serious no bullshit high dollar race cars.

His shop is in millersville.
He did the Y pipe on my FD, and he did a full header back system for my FC, great guy does excellent work.

Try Kearney's on Marblewood Ave. in Capitol Hgts., MD. Are they the cheapest? NO, but they do good work. They rebuilt my rotary w/some mild porting in the early 90's and its still running strong. Lately, they've worked on my 240z and 300zx. Better than dealer prices. When you find a good shop, I tend to stick w/them. Try to get an estimate up front if possible.

Hey guys, I know this may be a bit of a far drive for some of you but in honor of 10-8-10 tomorrow we are trying to have a large turnout of Rx-7's at the Dulles Town Center Chick-Fil-A meet. Thread-https://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-forum-30/2010-dulles-town-center-chick-fil-895374/
Anyone that can show up is welcome but we'd prefer if you brought a 7 along too
Usual arrival time for the regulars is 6:30- 7 but we chill there for a couple of hrs so don't stay home just cause you can't make it till later.

New guy alert
Hello all. I am new to the forum. Actually I, just bought an 82 from someone after seeing it here. I live in SW Baltimore and would like to meet/talk to other rx7 people.
I do have a question: What is the best way to mount the front license plate?
Thanks,
Wes

Just a heads up. There's a Nice looking black FB on HW1 just south of 100 for sale. From the street it looks to be in good shape.
Nothing else so report though.
