Maryland guys!
Does anyone know how to check to see if the igniters are good without that special tool needed to check them. i just wanna see if maybe my leading are going bad because i certainly don't its my trailing anymore. I mean can i check them with a multimeter??
i did check the intercooler. I let the idle for like 30 minutes and start to smoke. Then took off the intercooler but there isn't much oil in there its like a residue its not like its pouring out or anything just like wipe the inside with your finger and you can fell it on your finger. I was talking to my cousin who has a DSM and works at a shop in columbia and he told me that there isn't even supposed to be that in there. He said it should be dry.

If you want to make sure it's not your turbo, you can hook up your intake to your intercooler, bypassing your turbo, but remember that you need the afm on the intake or it won't idle.
you can check the coils with a multimeter, it should tell you how to do it in the FSM.
Some oil in there is normal on rx-7s, because the PCV system bleeds excess oil into the intake, which then makes everything after that a little oily, but as long as it's not like wet with oil, it should be fine.

Dead thread...
Who's down for a (cold) Fudds Columbia meet sometime this month?
I'll be there if people want to have one. I finally got my rx7 running the way I want and got all the nits worked out (aside from needing a new alternator, the old one is getting weak).

Rebuild needed...
I posted this just before christmas, but got zero responses so here's an update...
The engine in my vert has blown a coolant seal (in addition to almost-shot oil seals) and now I really need to get it rebuilt. KDRotary has given me a ballpark of $4K and PFSupercars has $4800-$5K on their website. Both are highly recommended, but I'm hoping to work something out with some of you local rotary-gearheads to get it done cheaper (since I don't have that much $$!). Jason (Tofuball) has said he can do the rebuild, but dosen't have a place to work on the car (and neither do I really - just a gravel driveway, no cover).
What can we work out? PM me with ideas (firm quotes NOT required just looking for options at this point).
Thx,
Emory
P.S. I'm planning on coming to the Fudds meet on Sunday, so maybe we can talk then!

they used to be a big rotary shop in manasas. but then moved to summit point and started concentrating on miatas. Give them a call and see what they charge.

You can also always have rotary resurrection do it, but it's quite a drive, but his prices are cheap.

Another shop to try is rp performance at summit point (WV).
