Kayo, do not ever under any circumstances take an rx7 to a dealership. Ask Tofu about his TII if you don't believe me. The starter is expensive itself, but 3 bolts to replace. The problem with your brakes is probably your abs pump leaking. They leak when they're brand new. If not, you most likely need a master cylinder replacement, not that difficult. Welcome to the club.

Yep. It's called steel and aluminum reacting, corroding and necessitating rotors to be removed with a hammer and a torch

Talking Passed Emissions!!

Oh Yeah - have I got a story for you!
So I go to the VEIP in Columbia this week for my 3rd test. They waive the late fee since I tell them that the car was hit and in the body shop for a month - it's nice and shiny now, so they believe me (nice when you can tell the truth like that!). The girl decides she can't drive it, so she goes and gets another guy. He tries, but can't keep it in the speed band on the dyno. So she tries - SAME THING. I mean I realize these are not pro drivers or anything, but they must drive 100 cars a day on the dyno :WTF ANYWAY, then they decide (since they won't let me drive it - I asked) that they will do an 'IDLE TEST'. And that's the trick boys and girls. I know this car won't pass the dyno test, but it passes the idle test.

So:
1) go to the site in columbia
2) go in the evening right before they close in the middle of the week
3) ASK THEM to do an IDLE TEST.

Good Luck. YMMV

Why is it that when I bought my FC, there wasn't a TII to be found? Nowadays it seems like everyone and their brother is finding one TII after another for dirt cheap. That's it, I'm trading my FD for a TII

Just kidding. But seriously, I wish I had found one for a decent price when I was looking.
