yeah I also checked out this FD. This would be worth it at 2k not 4k. first the motor is completely toast. Overheated and they never drained the coolant so it has sat in the block for over a year. Good luck rebuilding that. Also it has a salvage title so insurance companies will insure it for what you paid for it nothing more. Give it another year and it will be 2k.

 

with an engine that's toast, I wouldn't even give them 1K... but I'm cheap

 

yeah when I found it I was driving by. I did some numbers with Landers over the phone to do a complete rebuild knowing the rotors where shot and only thing useable were the housings (if they were any good) then swap it to a 5 speed (new clutch, flywheel, pedal setup) and all that was already into a 10k investment without any idea if the stock twins are shot or not. So I left it

The FD is trash.. see if someone can get it for 500 and sell it for parts to the FD guys..

just throwing it out there. i can't imagine paying $4000 for a car that's been sitting, doesn't run, and doesn't have any remarkable parts but hey- im new. speaking of i have pix of my new money pit and i just ordered my intake. exhaust and springs and i should be ready for inspection. hey tofuball where are you at?

Get the car ($4000), a front clip($2500), and a paint job ($2000)

 

If it's been sitting for that long, who knows what else has gone wrong with it, rusting included...

 

$4000 for an FD with a bad motor is a fair price. The paint condition and that its been sitting for a while bringing the risk of chassis rust would be the main things you should be concerned about with that car. If I didn't already have enough on my plate I'd prolly buy it myself.

If you don't care about the LED's, I'm going to order another case lid for you and move the extra connector to the front of the case where the LED's are now. I did a couple of other peoples' installs like that and they turned out looking a lot better.

Where is this car? I paid $3500 for my rolling chassis and it was missing most of the rotary components. I could part that car out for more than $4k and still have the car left to do another LS1 swap.



Yes, it is. Hardtop too - I'd be interested in that as well. My t-top weatherstripping sucked on my Monte Carlo, that always annoyed me.
