I mean we're translating assembly to C, and integrating it with code that's already there... It's not going to be easy.

So, after a few hours of waiting for tow truck guys to move cars and having them follow me home I am now the proud owner of a 1985 GSL-SE with very nice paint and interior. Some of the under carriage needs to have parts replaced. It apparently overheated and siezed so im goign to get it up on jackstands and tear all those crap parts off and catologue what needs to be bought, start removing the motor and breaking it down.
I have two spare NA 13Bs I hope to be able to piece together a motor from. Wit a complete gasket kit and a few pieces here and there I hope to have another daily driver so I can park my FD.

It's only 171 for me.
So less'see... We could take one of the heads offa that. That'll bring er down to 227...
Take one spark plug outta the remaining 4 cylinders and just kinda grind away the intake valve so it looses compression on another remaining cylinder.

I'll check if gear ratios changed in a bit and be more specific. I'd hate to drive up there just to check for something that might not be there.
EDIT: Yeah.. 99 or later, 5 speed.

S4 (1986-1988)...
-The tail lights are divided in a rectangular grid.
-The speedo and tach rest at like 8 o'clock, and the other guages rest at 9 o'clock.
-The body rub strips are ALL black. (EXCEPT the 1988 10th Anneversary edition. They're white.)
S5 (1989-1991)
-The tail lights are solid smoked witha round light pattern.
-All gauges rest at 8 o'clock.
-Body rub strips are color matched.
If you just have the engine, look for the OMP on the front cover of the engine. It'll be on the manifold side down towards the bottom. four clearish-yellowish plastic pipes going to it. (They may be broken off if they're old and brittle.)
The S4 OMP is purely mechanical. No electrical wiring should goto it.
The S5 OMP has a stepper motor, so some electrical wiring should goto it.
Others may be able to elaborate, I've not seen the two engines side by side up close, so I'm sure there's more differences.

The intake manifold on the S4 is more of a box shape..
while the S5 IM has 4 tubes going to the right to connect to the lower IM.
(this is what i want)
The lips of the S4 is straight across (from pass to driver)
while S5 lip has an indentation (sp) in the opening.. plus the front bumper comes with clear blankers and room for fog lights.

S5s have black circle AFMs and S4s have boxy metal AFMs...
S5 TIIs have BBSish style rims, S4 TIIs have wheelish looking rims
S5 TIIs are awesomer
if it doesn't have ABS,powersteering,AC,or a sunroof, then it's an S4
S5 radiator caps are on a neck, while S4 caps are on the radiator.
that's all I can think of at the moment that you would be able to see
