I'll take that race. I will be up at the garage next week. Straight line you will loose to the v8.
lol, I didn't say that to challenge anyone...

I'm just stating that I beat a Northstar V8 equipped car on the way back to Ken's house in my 240SX one night....

The gap wasn't huge, but I definately pulled away from him...

And that's when I hit the speed governer... After 125 (i'm guessing), I couldn't do anything else....

This is all straight line, mind you... 89 S13 with a 97 S14 engine, ghetto *** intake, and 2.5 exhaust with a high-flow cat...

In the twisties, I would have destroyed it...

I know what you meant, maybe GROSS weight, but gross weight != curb weight...

I think I remember seeing the gross weight on her door being 3800 lbs.

at 3967 lbs and 250 hp, the aurora has to push 15.8 lbs with each of it's horsepower...

at 2800 lbs and 155 hp, the 240 has to push 18.06 lbs with each of it's horsepower.

Barring other factors (I don't know how the aurora's transmission is geared), my money would still go on the aurora... it has a better power to weight ratio.

brandons car weighs 2684 lbs. stock, plus he does have some upgrades..

2684 lbs. /170hp = 15.79
15.87 compared to 15.79 = close race.

I'm not saying he would win... I'm just saying it would be close.

he's not running 170 hp, even with the upgrades... his engine stock is 155 hp, you can't get from 155 to 170 with strictly bolt-ons... you might get better throttle response and stuff like that, but there's no way he's pushing 170 in that car.

Depends on what gains you could get from intake, 2.5 exhaust, high-flow cat, and a bigger throttle body...

*shrugs* I wouldn't know what exactly it puts out, since I haven't dyno'd it...

Bolt-ons always CLAIM that kind of gain, they NEVER get it unless the stock stuff was VERY restrictive.

Some of those things can also reduce torque... making the car slower until it gets revved up.

><

But once its revved up its more torque than original, so therefore......your basis has been flawed! your computing skills have been found.................lacking! lol jk, you know alot more about cars than I do, however I bet brandon is around 170hp ><

actually torque usually falls after the peak, rarely does it stay the same...
