problem - not cheap to fix. therefore, it WON'T get fixed till the guy who wants the car takes it from me. he IS a mechanic, knows what's wrong with it, and still wants it for his girl - it's a far better option than her current 94 corolla(220k miles, and it's got that dreaded burning oil problem that the 1.6L corolla engines seemed to have).

i regret that i was forced into the corolla. i honestly WANTED to get a second gen phase 2 z24 right then and there...i knew it would be cheap to aquire, cheap to maintain, and cheap on the insurance(i was quoted at $800/year for the specific car i wanted, 2 days after totalling my car... ...a far cry from the $1600 i had to pay for 2 years while my insurance got over that accident and dealt with me having a newER car to (in their mind) go and smash up. if they'd listened to me in the first place, i wouldn't have the current issues i'm having right now.

i guess i'm just lucky...any tickets i've had(i don't get many...haven't since i got the newer corolla) have always been expunged.

i know all about the "dumbestics" breaking down - i work for a chebby dealership, myself. frankly, i could care less...the car i'd love to have again has a VERY strong 3.1L V6, and i want to say the only downside to that car is it's FWD. if it were RWD, i'd be overly miffed(more than i currently am, anyway...) about the fact that mine was stolen.

I always did like the late 80's early 90's Corolla All-Trac wagons... Wonder how easy they are to work on.

On my '85 Civic 4wd wagon, the thermostat, spark plugs, oil filter, and alternator were a bitch to get at.

I always wanted to take the drivetrain outta the Civic wagon and drop it into a CRX. Shorten the rear driveshaft and use a (m@d JDM y0) Integra block (I think that's the only one that'd bolt up to the 4wd tranny, aside from the stock 4wd Civic block.) modded of course.

Sub 2000 Lbs, AWD, and 200+ HP... Sounds like a fun little thing to beat around in.

Never did put too much more thought into the logistics of it though. Got rid of the wagon.

Damnit! Why'd you have to go and edit **** while I was replying to it.

Yep. They also made All-Trac Camries... (Camrys? Camry's? GAH! lsdadjfljsljlsj) The 87+ Camry is a bit porky for my tastes though.

Some kinda geriatric ninja maybe... Took 10 minutes to type that sentance.

I dig the editing where it doesn't show the "Last edited by Joe Momma Date/Time."

EDIT: Like this.

EDIT AGAIN: Of course 2nd time around, it'll probably show it... And if you do it too fast, nobody has time to reply, so it's kinda pointless...

yup... I know.... although I prefer to call it a "CUV" or Crossover Utility Vehicle, because it handles better and is smaller than a wagon, but is bigger and heavier than a small car, and has a HUGE amount of cargo capacity.

agreed...we had one. it was a base model terc, **** brown, vinyl interior. the seats hurt no matter the season(and when you're like 3 with really sensitive skin, they hurt more). we sold it to some guy for his college-age daughter when we got our 89 Cam...she didn't bother to put oil in it, and was driving back and forth between New England and Baltimore for school. one year later, she finally died...stopped dead from lack of oil.

Me too... Kinda forced to because there's no DSL or Cable internet providers where I work. And because someone decided to put the phone junction box down the street into the wayback machine and send it to the 1950's, we're lucky to get 28.8K on a good day... No such connection when it's raining though.

Luckily, I set my work hours to Noon and 7-8ish PM... That way, I avoid the rush hour... Less chance of me running into morons...

My roomie didn't change the oil in his 2001 Prism for the first 15K miles (HEY! I know where you can get a FREE set of tie rods... AND O2 sensors. )

Puta rod straight through the side of the block... Warranty invalidated. His engine replacement bill also said they put in a new clutch cable. They did a **** job of the engine replacement too.. Banged up the intake, left the cruise control disconencted...

He just replaced the clutch too, and the car has less than 50K miles on it... That man does not know how to use a car. Spends too much of his time baked...

This man truly sucks at life.

I should probably finish my oatmeal and get the **** off the forum now.

Sparkly Orange with the tan/brown interior. oil light came on exactly at 3000 miles (time to change/replace the oil ) 87MPH when floored

The interesting thing about newer toyotas is that they tell you to change the oil at WAAY to long of an interval...

My Vibe says every 5000 miles, which I do, but only b/c I use Mobil 1 in it...

My girlfriend's father's camry says 7500 miles on REGULAR OIL... non-synthetic... I wouldn't drive a car around that long without changing the oil even WITH synthetic...

><

So anyways, I did a job out in southeast DCyesterday(liquor store), I was scared shitless, I got to park behind a razor wire gate that is about 15feet tall, and work behind the 3inch think bullet proof glass, this was completely bullet proof, the cashiers had to go around and get what the people wanted! SOOO ghetto!

then I heard some gunshots, and a lady ran in and said "4 *neeegaz* just got shot down the street, one of them got shot in teh head!

At that point I decided it was time to leave!

Note to self: Next time you get a call to go do a job in southeast DC, dont go><

5K... NO MORE...

Okay 7500, but that's only if I feel like avoiding my parents. And I only did that ONCE. The valves in my truck are ticking loudly enough as it is... Stupid lash adjusters. I hate automatic or "maintenance free" anything... Gimmie a set screw and a lock nut. I don't mind adjusting valve clearance every 15-20 K miles.
