Mandrel Bending near Harford County MD
Well the time has come for me to get a new exhaust. The tailpipe on the right has broken because the connecting pipe between the muffler and the tip rusted through. The muffler also has pinholes in it, and I'm not totally happy with the downpipe I have on the car right now.
The current plan is to have a shop reuse the flange from my DP after grinding it back to flat (just in case it's a little warped) and then build a full 3" exhuast from there. I'm looking to run a hi-flow (not sure which are recommended and available, but I'll search those next) and then take that back to a single tip, no angled exit, that will hopefully look fairly factory. I don't want a 5" tip angled up for the rice-boy look.
Does that sound like a pretty decent plan to you guys, and does anyone know of a reputable shop in or around Harford County that does mandrel bending and could pull this job off for me? I've been in the area about 3 yrs, so I don't really know a ton about what shops are recommended. I even considered calling Johnny Lightning in New Providence, PA since they do alot of custom work on Lightnings. Figured they might be able to pull something off if need be.

Be cheaper and easier for you just to buy a new exhaust. Call Ari @ Rotary Performance and order his Japan Greddy 4". It comes with a resonator built in so its not too loud but you get alot of power from it.

4" seems like a little overkill to me for a basically stock seq. twin setup. Also, I'm assuming a full custom exhaust will be running me about 600 or so, and I have yet to find any aftermarket cat-back for around that price, much less an entire exhaust. I'm also trying to avoid the FS section, since I want to make sure everything fits, and don't want to get stuck with any warped parts and fight with sealing the joints.

There are a few places... EMP Welding in hickory, right up the street from me may have a mandrel bender I spoke with a guy that works there says they do quite a few exhaust jobs. I know Echo 4x4 uses a crush/stretch bender.
Theres another race fab shop down behind Cook dodge off route 40 at rte 7, They may have a mandrel bender (infact I'm almost sure of it) I don't know the name of it, it's been 5 or 6 years since I've been there. It was something generic like "The Race Shop" It's right in the business park behind the dealership off Rte 7.

Glad to see this his turned into flaming and defending of KDR. And Ernie, I actually had a small amount of respect for you based on your history here and what you've done with your car. Sadly enough, it seems that the thread has now gone to ****, along with my thoughts of Ernie.....
Thanks for the advice on where to look to get custom work done, and thanks for the replies answering the question I had. Please don't respond to this thread any more... just let it die.

Dude, In no way was I trying to derail your thread and I appolagize if thats the way it came off, but I have a very, very sour taste still in my mouth from KDR. Yes, I proabably beat it to the ground, but trust me if you went through what I did there, you would do whatever you could to tell your dealings with that company so nobody could repeat the same costly mistakes. Again, sorry if I went off on a tangent.
