Got To Say I Have Talk To Dave And I Went To His Shop, Abd He Is Very Knowledgeable. Great Guy.
Some People Has Had Bad Experience With Tuning. I Guess That Goods With All Tuners. Maybe A Mechanic Problem Ect. Maybe All The Good Tuners Should Get Together And Share There Abilities. Steve,ray,dave Etc. So There Would Be Less People Blowing There Motors. The Tuners Are All Spead Out So Everbody Would Have Enough Work To Go Around, Just An Idea.

You obviously don't know many tuners. That idea will never fly, they aren't too receptive to sharing 'secrets' in most cases----why breed competition?

I've heard great things about john duarte/boostn7 on here, he is supposed to be a whiz with the power fc. You can always get dyno time with Dave over at KDR, or catch steve when he comes into town. Ray is a bit of a hike, but I hear he knows his stuff when it comes to tuning too. You have a bunch of options

 

from my experience....get your engine...ect. work done at KDR.....and when your ready to push for HP hook up with steve(but make sure everything is right).

 

Dave and his wife are awesome. Went out of his way to get me fixed on a trip home. The puppy is pretty nice too.

 

I am very good friends with dave and I will certainly vouch for his credibility as a tuner, engine builder, and all around rotary specialist..Do you guys have any idea how long he has been building and wrenching on rx7's??Granted he may have had some problems with other techs, but you will find that anywhere and he does whatever he can to make things right..I would put Dave before alot of big name tuners and companys that are considered gods on this board in a heartbeat, and I am sure that anyone that knows him and knows what they are talking about will tell you the same thing..

 

well said !the new shop is 12 mins. from my house and me and dave are pretty good friends now alot of that has to do with the way he treats his customers.he goes way beyond helpful .I have seen him tell guys over the phone how to fix there stuff and walk them thru it !!I have seen him tune many vehicles and get great power and no boom!they actually give a s@@t thats what I like they have alot of pride in there work and stand by what they do even when they shouldnt

 

i love KDR...im down there almost every weekend....always learn something new while down there....also meet alot of nice people down there

 

Right on, brother. I have been taking my '93 to Dave for going on 5 years and he transformed it from a near-lemon to a screamer. It was regularly stalling out, so
I brought it in in November and he immediate guessed at the problem - the clutch pedal sensor switch, which had a broken spring in it. He replaced the spring with a similar one from a ball point pen (!) and I didn't even have to buy a new switch.
The guy is outstanding.

 

yeah, it was a little hard getting ahold of him. i am having my car shipped from san diego straight to him for a rebuild. i love how the military moves you back and forth from coast to coast HAHA.

i had a red 7 that was tuned and had some work done by dave at kdr and he fukced up so bad he wrecked my car so heads up dave and kim when i straighten out ur mess im gonna make a trip out there.

Stupid kids. Even though I am a shop owner, I would not hesitate to send a potential customer to KDR if it was easier for them because of distance or whatever.
