The I'm getting bored, who wants to go Karting thread

Glad everyone enjoyed their time and thanks to you all for such a great turnout. You all showing up is what makes these things fun. We had about 15 people there and almost all of them club members. After our second race our top five drivers were in the top six times for the week.
I think everyone enjoyed getting out during the winter and hanging out with each other, we'll have to do this again before the weather breaks. Maybe next we do a mini GP or something and reserve the place. I think we just got lucky this time with the weather keeping the place from being packed. Also, SPK in the spring is definitely an option too but lets set that up as a cruise type meet so we can all caravan out together.
And Mike, eat a hamburger maybe then your kart wont hop

Great job Casey, thanks for working the camera. It wasn't your fault on the blurry shots, the venue was dark and the camera wasn't set up right. Also, thanks for bringing the camera Jack, the pictures are 100 times better then any that would have been taken with a camera phone.

There are a few more than the few I posted up. I just ran through and picked the best ones I saw when they were down converting. I will put the rest on Google + and facebook if anybody wants them. I just get lazy with six pic's and a few minutes to upload.
I tried to get it close. Pushed the ISO way up. Really a flash would have been the only way to get better shots. I was more worried of the lights putting a strange cast if I pushed the ISO any more. More time and I could have maybe gotten a little closer with it.
Still Casey you got some good shots. Never using the camera before and all. Now just have to get out and shoot more!

So, early May looks a bit open for me and I was thinking about staging a trip out to Summit point to do some Karting. Who's interested?
Here's the Details:
The thought was to meet up for Breakfast at and IHOP and do a short cruise out to the track. If you are anti-social or ashamed of what you are driving, you can meet us there. But even if you don't eat food, I encourage you to meet up with us in the parking lot to hang out, look at all the rotaries, trash talk about karting, and cruise out to Summit Point with us.
Meet location: 980 Edwards Ferry Road Northeast, Leesburg, VA 20176 (That is the address of the IHOP. Since it has a smaller parking lot, we will likely park in the back of the nearby Wal-mart lot so that we can park together)
Meet time: 9:30am for food, 11am for departure. (12pm if you meet us there)

Looks awesome right? Well, first question everyone has is: how much does it cost? You have a couple options.
1) Non members: $25 per run. (We will likely do on the order of three runs. Some people may do more, some may do less. But, it is more tiring then expected so keep that in mind) Total price for 3 $75.
2) Become a member: It costs $40 for membership, a t-shirt, and 1 free run. Each run is $23 after that so if you do 3, it totals to $83. You get a t-shirt and discounts for the next time.
3) Private event: A GP3 event (8-15 people) will cost $75 per person. Here is the online description:
"A Grand Prix 3 is a Practice, Qualifying, and Race. The practice is as
it sounds… a session to get used to the speed of the karts and how
they handle. Then, each drivers fastest lap in the qualifying session
determines their starting position for the race. (Fastest in front,
slowest in back). For the race, everybody lines up on “The Grid”
according to their qualifying time and when the green flag drops,
everybody hits the gas and goes. The first person to cross the finish
line is the winner."
Unless I get more then 8 people stating that they really want to do option 3, I dont think we will do that. But, it could happen in the future if everyone digs it.
You may have noticed that I have not set a date. When you respond that you are interested, note which of the following dates you are available for:

Weather looks great for Friday right now, we could have the club meet there and do a KTP (I think it's $65?) I'm supposed to be doing a rally this weekend but there's some issue with my registration so I might be free to kart instead.

This idea has seemed to fiz out a bit. Honestly I just completely forgot. I would like to still do it but thanks to me picking up a second job, I only have Saturday and Sunday off every other week so it makes it difficult to schedule fun activities. Btw...is anyone going to the Maryland BBQ this year?

Ok I am bumping this back up to the top. I got a PM from an old friend that is in town and wants to meet all the rx7 guys. I have been wanting to go back to All Sport GP and I even talked to Rocky about it. We discussed possibly having another CiCi meet and even trying for the Summit Point go kart racing if anyone is still interested. Let's see some hands b/c I want to do more stuff with everybody before it gets too cold.

Yeah, I think we are going to have a hard time getting people together before the temperature starts to drop. I dont know when SPK closes for the winter. Might be best to plan for AllsportGP so we don't have to consider the weather.
So, who's interested? Possible date: weekend of 10/6-10/7?
