No problem I just wish we could have got it running.
Like he said we put new plugs in, unflooded it a couple times. The plugs just kept getting fouled. The only thing I can think of is if the trailing coil's took a ****, because those plugs were soaked when we took them out.

So I drove 150 miles up to his place to try and get dis bitz running... He had 0 compression on the rear rotor and 45-50ish on the front... I now leave it up to everyone else to convince him to keep the car and pop that block open. Car's in great shape.
Hopefully Mazda gave a warranty on the engine. It was a Mazda reman w/ 9,000 miles on it and it's been less than a year since it was done. Whatcha guys think?

I went out yesterday to try and get it going again. We put atf in both housings since it sounds like it might be a stuck seal. Just by the sound it seems as if we got better compression in the front rotor.
It was strange though, you could feel the air coming out of the back rotor and it still didn't build pressure on the guage. Hopefully they are just stuck seals and the atf can help free them up.
Oh he is going to keep the car.

Glad to hear he's going to keep it. I mean.. worst case, he needs to open it up and clean things up a bit. Shouldn't need to replace his seals tho. I wouldn't think anyways. Might wanna port that wastegate though before putting everything back together =)

I am not gonna rest till I find out exactly what is wrong with his car. The first time I went out the rear rotor sounded good to me, then yesterday it just had no compression. I am confused as hell right now.
DemonicPupil you had the nice day to go it was sunny and warm. Myself and Need-A-T2 get out there and it is pouring the whole time. I get home in my garage and start working on my car, and what happens the god damn sun comes out.

Well that rear rotor will sound 'fine' when you don't plug up the plug hole. The air has somewhere else to go besides past the seals.
Plug the spark hole up and the air just flys right by the seals, wether it be the side seals or apex seals that are currently fudged.
His starter is slow as **** also. I also felt there had to be something wrong with the seals when we were unflooding it. I made the comment that it didn't sound good, but I was use to hearing NA's. Thought maybe the lower compression rotors just didn't make the same sounds. But alas, I think I was right.
When I unflooded my vert, it would go SWOOOSH (front) SWOOOOSH (back) SWOOOSH (front) and huge clouds of air and gas would flow out. His car was going SwOoSH (front) blah (rear) SwOoSH (front) blah (rear). Just by ear I could tell that it was totally uneven and there was barely any power from either.
Alot of rotaries can start with one good rotor and one bad. His front rotor is so low on comp. that the engine isn't even getting any kick. All that's turning it is the starter. Unless someone knows a good way to get those seals to unstick, it's going to have to be pulled apart. Did he find anything out about his warranty?

2 things...
1) you said your wife wouldn't let ya spend any $$$ on the motor... if the darkside is a v8 swap... that's definitely not going to be cheaper than fixing what you have
2) if you decide to hold on to the car and get rid of the engine... i'd appreciate a chance at the turbo and manifolds =)
