Well, changed the fuel filter today. Changed back to stock ignition, and back to 2GCDFIS, checked timing and looked for vacuum leaks. Still no changes.
Here are the symptoms:
Poor idle- Bounces from 600-900 rpm
Hesitation at idle during tip-in. Sometimes will stall at tip-in. Have to tap pedal 3-4 times to get engine rpms up.
After 3k RPM at cruise, engine bucks and stutters.
At 5500 WOT engine stumbles and falls on it's face.
After INITIAL let off no matter what throttle posistion i was at, a very LARGE and noticeable buck is felt, then normal decel. There is no bucking during decel after the first initial large buck. A dashpot won't solve this one.
Symptons seem to disappear during 1/2 to 7/8 throttle, until around 5400 rpm, where stuttering appears.

For the most part if you wanna describe it like that. It sounds like it has a MASSIVE cam in it, if you wanna go that route. Only at idle tho. Literally bounces from 500 to 900 rpm at idle. Back and forth back and forth.

I had no problems with it until I put the new carb on. I doubt I blew a seal. It pulls hard and idles fine at 1000-1100 rpms. I think it's running outta fuel and something's wrong with the idle circuit.

A busted seal will idle poorly but will pull up top just fine. It does sound like a vacuum leak though.

LOL, mine are about 4 inches away and directly below the intake. Not to mention it drips on the headers.
Anyways, no vacuum leaks, timing is right. I think I'm runnning out of fuel do to fuel jets being too small. If that isn't it, Sterling's sending another carb. Hopefully it'll be right then. If it's not that, I'm going to say new motor time.

Gonna give up on your carb already Bryan??? I played with Brianna's car's carb a couple of weeks ago and it is running better than it ever has. I would almost call it running perfectly. I think the engine is really only now getting broken in well now. I always had a bad attitude about carbed RX7's but this one now has my mind changed.
