Yeah, I have just known him since he was about 17 or so..... He really looked like where's Waldo then :-)

The autocross is actually on that Sunday April 3rd. It is at Pungo. Go to http://www.odr-scca.org/ and click on "Solo 2 Online Registration" for info.

We are all OLD now. That picture I showed you on autocross.us of me was 25 years ago, and I am pretty sure David Lee was at that event.

Is there a special edition first gen? There's a guy down the street that has a beautiful black first gen, but from the road I can only see the rear of the car. Looks like there's a gold emblem on the backside.....

I can't think exactly of what that would be. It sort of sounds like the "Limited" model. But I am not sure. Where is the gold emblem?

It looks like it's in the upper center of the rear. As if it covers a keyhole. Someday I'll knock on the guy's door as to look at it....

Fun fun fun. I remember my first real job interview. I got grilled for 2 hours on comp sci theory. Now when I go for a job interview, they're more interested in what kind a person I am, maybe the industry is changing...... Mechanic?? Wanna be a consultant on my swap??? If you're in Poquoson, you're not far from me....

DOH!!! Got any experience working on RX-7's?? I don't. What I know is what I've been studying online. As a last desperate act, I'm trying the ATF trick to see if I've got carbon lock. I should have the test results today/tomorrow. I found conflicting info on the forum about whether or not I should leave in the EGI fuse when I try to startup the engine after letting the ATF do its work. Should I or shouldn't I leave in the fuse? If this doesn't work I'll get the TII engine, and if you actually know enough about mechanics to apply for a job I'd still like you help out. It would be a good experience for the both of us. Especially when you do your swap. I went to the auto performance shop on Jefferson beside Anderson's Showplace. All the customers and the employees seemed to be at least 10 years younger than me! I'm sure you could teach me a thing or two on how to get the most bang out of my car.....

I had a "Limited Edition" 1st Gen as my frist car. I believe it only came in 83. There was a badge on the B pillar designating it as such. It was not black however. It was a silver color but it was different from the standard silver. A little softer with some "goldening" in the paint (that is the only way I can describe it). It also came with wheels that were 1" bigger than the standard wheel and was a different design wheel. Mine also came with a graphical equalizer but that may have been an option in all of them.

Cool, that's alot more than I've done on RX7's...... I just figured out how to get the plugs out without jackin' up the car......not alot of space on that side of the engine..... Maybe I should have used a smaller rachet....

I wonder if it came in black, or if I'll get the "gumption" to knock on that guys door....

Well I tried the ATF trick, no go. Oh well. I'll order that engine tomorrow. Maybe I'll have it by the weekend...... Guess I'll need to startup a check list for removing then installing the engines...... How long does it take to remove an engine?? Any recommended tools beyond a engine puller, jack stands and basic hand tools.......
