I see the huge mess but I did not hear if anything got completed . Hey Renagade , If you still have any energy left. My garage still needs a good cleaning form 1 week ago. We removed a motor and trans and installed it in another car after cleaning and painting the engine well on the new car . We also took the entire strut and braking system off the older car amdinstalled it on the new one . The new engine harness is ready to go . All I have left is to remove the older turbo II read end . I have gutted this entire car and it should be ready for the scrapyard by this weekend .
Just let me know if you feel froggy

well i fibreglassed my stock storage bin and mounted a 8 inch woofer in it.. its "way mo betta". still needs a lil fine tuning but its better than what i had going and i didnt lose any space. the car its itself is fine after about 1200(it was detonating) it must be the rotary aviation seals(resistant). I think the clutch is crapping out because im getting slower launches and 5th gear sucks ,but besides thats id say everything is A ok.

My brand new clutch is a turd. I was shifting around 8k last night, and all it would do was slip for a few seconds, then finally grab. Think I'm pushing too much hp for the stocker clutch. What clutches should I look at. Specifically, I was thinking Centerforce, or RB. What you guys think?

I have only used stock clutches. Are you sure it is a clutch problem and not sometihng in the hydraulics not releasing properly (just a thought). I have used the centerforce in other cars, but not in an RX7. I like their concept, but on an RX7 I would be loking towards lowering rotating mass as much as possible. One of the puck style clutches would be in line with a light pressure plate, but the higher pressure plates are usually heavier, so it becomes a tradeoff.

I think centerforce clutches are not so good for a rotary trying to pull out of the hole. Maybe stock driven, but if you like to pop your clutch often, you are better off with the Racing Beat 4 or 6 puck clutch. Make sure you get the sprung hub one. I have a clutchnet 6 puck sprung hub. It has been in three cars already and three owners. Takes a licking but keeps on ticking. I have dragged and used it daily. I have used this clutch on a stock pressure plate and with the centerforce pressure plate. It was a tad softer with the CF PP.

If you want absolute engagement, get the one without springs, but after a good while you leg will pay for it. Would probably be pretty hard to drink coffee or a soda your 7 or hybrid.

I have had a solid hub clutch disk in a car that I used for track events (again not RX7) and it was very hard on transmission parts. They are designed for race car that get race car type maintenance. Though I have used them, I would recommend avoiding them unless you don't mind your maintainece routine becomming far more frequent.

Ok, so rx7club.com changed to rx7clubs.com. I think it is in a state of transition still. I am just posting this to see how well it is working.

It depends on what you are calculating.

hp/weight in Flywheel =7.08
hp/weight in rwhp =8.3

Dale's car does look better than it does in the picture. It is nice and shiny :-) The color is nice and sort of like Jimdog's car in that the color looks very different depending on lighting. We determined that his new emblems were for a 79-82 and his car is an 85. It is strange that Mazda would make emblems that are identical looking, but change the layout of the pins that hold them in place. Go figure.

Nice looking Dale. Very clean, and it looks good with the moudings removed. I think I'm going to go with a silver color, but a little darker than the original. Maybe the RX-8's titanium metallic. That is a real purty color.

Actually I was intending on putting the door mouldings back on. They have been painted (black) and are ready to mount. Just need some warmer weather. No hurry to do so though. I guess I feel I need them for helping to avoid door dings. The front and back mouldings are already on there anyway. Without the front and rears the marker lights poke out and just look odd to me.

Hopefully I can get some better pictures this weekend. I need to find a nice open area that won't create any reflections on the super shiney paint.

If you find such a place the car might look rather uninteresting :-)

I have been trying to think of a good color for a wide body car. Yours would look nice, but I'd have to make sure the bodywork was perfect. I am not completely sure I can get the rear quarters to look that well.

I just need to find an attractive large breasted model with little clothing to pose with the car.. that will make the car look great I'm sure.
