When it comes time to get your engine rebuild I would seriously suggest taking it up to Manassass and a shop called RP Performance. They rebuilt my engine several years (20k miles) ago and I'm still pulling 8.6-9.0 compression on all faces. They used to work closely with PFS when he was still doing the FD thing... If/when I get my engine rebuilt I'm gunna crate that sucker up and ship it to Pineapple for the rebuild/porting/flow balancing ;-)

Now the warranty claims adjuster says that mazda is lieng about the compression test because they said that the car had 800 psi on all sides.... So first off we all know thats a load of crap... They are just trying to get money in their pockets... NO ONE EVER GO TO HALL MAZDA Im getting charged $300 for them basically telling me what i already knew and the compression test... They also told me my turbos where leaking but i could care less im going 1 turbo set up after deployment.
That is odd that Mazda would **** up the compression test. If NOTHING ELSE that is one thing they should be able to do correctly, they have a mazda specific compression tester, and sailor-proof instructions, which *should* return the number in kg/cm2.

I would suggest ordering ALL OEM parts from Ray Crowe @ Malloy Mazda up in NoVa/MD. He's **** hot.

To be fair I believe the price for rotors/housings *has* nearly doubled (if not more) in the past year. Don't ask me why, because I don't know the reason. I just know that my mechanic/tuner here in the UK was bitching about it when I was down getting my A/I installed/tuned in July, than he commented again when I was down the other week that prices are still going up.. Granted, this is in England though...

Oh yeah... Hello everybody ^_^ Spend my first four years in the Navy out of Norfolk.. bought my 7 shortly before getting stationed in the UK back in '06... will be back in the area for about a month or so come May, than it's off to Iraq for (yet another) IA.

I'll def be poking around and showing up to any meets that happen when I'm back ^_^

whassup ppl, so i got a question.....i traded away my t2 for a 90 streetported gtu and it has a coolant leak... i was aware of this when i traded the car so its no biggie but im trying to figure out a way to fix it.. the leak is coming from a hose connected to a pipe (that i think is connected to the heater core) and the dude told me its like that because the pipe is bent inward like the edge isnt a complete flush circle, so im wondering what ill have to do to get it to stop leaking? cause i cant drive the car the way it is cause i turn the car on and move in reverse drive about 15 feet and all my coolant is all over the ground..helppp

have you gone and looked at the heater core pipe on the left side of the motor? It should be pretty easy to find the leak if it blows all it's coolant in 15 minutes. If you need some help today pm me your number and we can meet somewhere.

Hey guys, not sure if I can post this here or if I have to post it in classifieds. If so, just let me know I'll delete it. I need some TII injectors for a S4. I dont mind if I have to send them out to be cleaned, just let me know. Again, sorry if I shouldn't post here. Thanks. Oh, I'm located in Newport News.

i know exactly where the leaks at and why its leaking i jus dunno how to fix the pipe and its the pipe on the right side of the motor (if your lookin at it from the front) the guy told me its bent inward, which i guess leaves it so coolant doesnt go directly into it instead it goes around it an out the loose spot on the hose where it connects to the pipe

You can source them from Rotary Aviation (Hayes Rotary) and they will sell you individual O-rings. You can also find the correct o-rings from an industrial supply place I used to have the link for. I will see if I can find the link again.

I have a digital rotary engine compression tester that shows individual strokes for each face and will test your engine for $30. PM me if you want it checked. I normally have it with me at the club meet-ups, but I can't make it to the meet-up this week-end.

I have 2 good e-shafts if you need to replace yours. If your e-shaft is out of the engine I can also put it on some v-blocks and check the run-out with a dial indicator.

Anybody able to recommend a good shop to have my FD painted at?

She will be getting back in the area in April and I want to have the job done before I deploy to Bahrain in June..

I'm looking for something a little more than your average panel beater with a spray booth. I made the mistake of taking her to the Maaco in Hampton who's owner/manager owns an FB. $1,200 later she came out VR all over. I mean ALL OVER... including the oil coolers and radiator/AC element..

I'd be totally stoked if anybody knows of a place that is more artistic and less min wage attention to detail.

Thanks!

Take it to Stock or Modified bodyworks. Tell Joey that Kyle the guy with the black t2 sent you. It'll be a little bit more than 1200 bucks but it will come out fantastic.

Cool ****, thanks for the heads up! Where are they located at? I'll have to see if I can't find a website for them... I won't be back with the car for a couple more months. I'll have to swing by and talk to them when I come home for a bit of leave (and I need some leave! Not had any time off other than weekends since June...)

I assume you had work done to yours there?? If so I'd love to check yours out as a basis for comparison ^_^

I'm thinking of going two tone on mine. Black on top with a color shifting/Chameleon Red/Black on the bottom. I'm thinking that would turn out nicely, especially with a MS A-spec front, MS sides and a Seibon Knightsport style hood. Would probably get rid of my R1 spoiler in favor of a proper RE-A GTII wing after I get back from deployment.. Would leave it bare-assed 90% of the time though, just leave the wing mounts on =) If they can rock out a custom fabricated cut/weld widebody on the rear than I'd be in love.. (I've got no problem spending $6-8k on this little "project" if it can turn out the way I'm seeing it in my head)

Joey is a magician when it comes to body work. I don't have any pictures of my car now (it's super dirty and in the garage) but somebody backed into the driver's side door and you can't even tell it was replaced.

They are located behind the Virginia Beach TCC campus. They don't have a website.

Stock or Modified Bodyworks
3440 Chandler Creek Rd Ste 102
Virginia Beach, VA 23453
(757) 301-8490

That's the address and phone number.

Yeah, I called in and spoke with him before they closed today. Seems like a pretty cool, honest guy. I'll def be swinging by for a chat with him when I get back on leave.

I was initially hoping to have the entire job done within the first week or so of getting back from the UK. However after speaking with him I'm thinking that for it to be done correctly the turn-around time will be nowhere near that quick. Soo... I'll have my 7 looking all bedraggled for the month that I'm home, than will probably turn it in to where ever I decide to take it when I deploy again.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Hello peoples how has everyone been, Im trying to get back out and about in the 7 this year so for those of you that remember me I am renegade roatary/Dwayne/ Will for those that dont well those are my names and heres my car

its a Flat black 83 gsl gutted the hatch and put in home made sound dampening

the engine is out of a 1990 T2 as well as the tranny
engine mounts are all home made
Stage 3 BNR turbo
Megasquirted
Full custom built in home 3inch Exhaust system
racing beat springs
5 way adjustable tokico shocks
Rx8 shiftknob (for those of you that know a heavier shiftknob makes a bit of difference in the shifting)

Im guessing close to 300 bhp but im not entirley sure, it has the sensation of someone pushing you into the seat from the moment i press the gas.

well anyways I hope to see you dudes around more often, i just gotta recover my meetup password and login stuff lol
