I'd like to, but can't commit with money a little on the tight side right now. If it gets going though, depending on the date I may sign up. Sorry, thats the best I can do.

Also that $350 it cost, I thought that included dyno time as well.

are you looking to the dyno for tuning or just to get numbers after the tune? i havn't had a car tuned before, so i don't really know the difference... i wouldn't mind getting something on paper as well, though.

me? Looking for dyno tuning (adjusting spark/fuel in the ems such as to produce the most efficient/strongest/safest possible conditions for running your car). I don't know if kan does street tuning, but either way its always best to fine tune things on the dyno since its a controlled environment. If your just looking for numbers most shops won't charge that much to do a pull or 2 and see what your making.

i'm more interested in getting my FD to run as good as can be. numbers are good, but driving it down the street and feeling how well my car's running is what i'm in to.

now more on kan tuning on the dyno, and the time not being included in the price. anyone been tuned by kan and have an estimated net cost? i understand price will vary depending on how many runs and time invested... just looking for a good range to expect. (need to know how much to bring )

i was told that my problem was my car wasnt getting enough fuel, so i went ahead and purchased a supra fuel system with wideband o2 sensor, a power fc(a-pexi), and a data logit for the power fc. it is at the shop and i will pick it up today, maybe we could meet up this weekend, and you can take a look for yourself, i would like to meet up with other people with a rotary car to hang out and try to learn how to work on this car of mine. 502-471-4735

good investments, but you might need bigger injectors too

well I'm not against and would prefer it(street tune) only because it's cheaper. I don't need max hp, just something efficient. I'm going to make the plunge with you guys with my next paycheck(25th). Thats the earliest I can commit. Otherwise I'd be to strapped.

so should I wait till then to add my name to the list?

I would say don't wait, as long as you are serious about setting the money aside. It could make the session happen quicker, possibly?

On another note, I have decided to go to a single turbo and I've read through some threads, but really don't know which turbo would be right for what i want to achieve. Not really looking for much over 350whp, definitely ball bearing... Anyone around VA running a good single you would recommend? Planning on a rebuild/street port in October, probably from Pettit (open to other suggestions here, too). I could take leave and drop it off while visiting family in FL. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks guys

me personally i am going with the hks T51R it will give me about 400 whp but ill detune it so i can have atleast 380 which is what i am after for horse power numbers. nothing to crazy on the streets and not super laggy/ really long turbo lag.... if not that i would go with a grarette? not sure on spelling heh the T3/T4 closer to stock single but a little more juice on the top end. both are ball bearing.
not sure on power kick in i think they said 3000-3500 full boost? or was it 2500-3000 full boost?

For a rebuild, I'd go to Chris Rogers, he's in Va Beach and a nationally known rotary engine rebuilder. For turbo suggestions, I'm sure there's alot of folks here that can give you advice, but you might want to ping Johny. What's his UN here guys?

Hampton Roads Mazda Rotary Car Club August Meetup

Sorry to change this at such a late date.... But.... The meets at Bass Pro Shop have been canceled by the management. Rob has been kind enough to invite us all over for a cookout at his place. I moved the time back a little so we would have a little more daylight. If you have to work later, you know that we hang around a long time, so call someone and check to see if we are still there. We probably will still be there.

Rob has been kind enough to provide a grill. If you want something to put on the grill, bring it. Also don't expect Rob to provide all of your beverages. Bring what you want, bring your car and lets have a good time. Rob says he lives near the overpass of Independence Blvd where it crosses Northampton. Directions should be easy for anyone to that point.

Bring your car, your, meats for the grill, your beverages, and anything else you want to bring. Bring a friend or two as well. It sounds like a great time. RX7's a grill and a place to park them all. What else do we need.

If you don't bring food for the grill, bring a few dollars and Rob will be providing some, but we don't want to stick him with all of the expense.

t51r is not a street friendly turbo, if your goal is only 380-400 hp go with a 35r or 60-1 and you have to go full t4 turbo on a rotary its just gives you more options if you get power hungry later on down the line.

Thanks. Anyone know if Chris Rogers might come out to the meet Saturday? I'd like to talk to him (or anyone, actually) about rebuilds and porting... and a bunch of other things, I guess. I've only personally known one other FD owner and he wants to go LS1, so I can't really talk to him about this stuff

I have been having some rough cold starts lately. Havn't done anything to the car except changed the plugs and oil. I thought it might have been the plugs since it had been nearly 10,000 miles, and even though they looked pretty bad, that wasn't it. Any ideas??

Has it been that long? At least you spelled it right.

Dhoward Im running a rew with a 35r its a t3 frame 2.5 I/c piping. lots of supporting mods.

I don't have much data yet as it is still in the process. My thinking is around 375/400 rwhp and mininal lag.
Hopefully Ill have it on the road soon. I had to rebuild the rear due to my poor tuning attempt.

So some one down there needs to coordinate a dyno and and Steve Kan tuning session and Ill be in

Hey guys,

I've got a rebuilt and streetported 12a with under 1k miles on it sitting in my garage and I'd love to get rid of for just about whatever someone will offer me (maybe if it's slightly reasonable). Also have some FB "+" rims with sumitomo's on 'em, full tread, hardly driven on. Again, make an ever so slightly reasonable offer, and they're yours. I'm over in the Western branch area of Chesapeake, and my number is 757-650-3199.

The Apexi RX6 will get u those horsepower numbers with very low lag...just expensive setup. also the effini twins are capable of that as well
