Hey all,
Any of you old school rotorheads have a 79 or 80 manula tranny around for sale? The Cosmo 5 speed I have has a bad front bearing. I hate the noise and that's stopping me from having it on the road right now. If worst things worst, I will use a first gen tranny and modify the shifter but I don't feel like doing that right now......

I don;t have a computer related job yet, but as someone fresh from college with a 4 year degree in the field, it seems that certifications are worth more to get in the door of a company. Especially if you don't finish school with a high gpa or some experience from an internship. Live and learn i guess. All i know is my friend just got a job up in nova, he's a college dropout, but had about 2 years working as a help desk person, and a few certifications. Whereas I'm still job hunting with no real experience and no certs, but a degree. There are other variables to consider but I'm not trying to write a book. Just passing along some advice. A degree is good, but not everything. My suggestion is just do good at school and try for some kind of internship while completing your studies.

Ian, stop by or give me a call and we can talk about it. But I would think you'd like networking. In alot of ways it's like being a mechanic, but cleaner. You do your fare share of working with hardware as well as software. Like James said, it's not always about being degree'd, but I highly recommend finishing school. It's A LOT harder to finish school when you're my age or older.....
I think both Cal and I are code monkeys. Right now I write web based applications that run on top of Business Process Management systems. I do alot of JSP, HTML, Java, Java script, RDBMS, and SQL work.
