Ok, Monty is complaining that his car is too ugly to come to the meets....
Well Damnit!!!! there are no cars around here uglier than mine. I was peeling the clearcoat off the paint last night. The car looks like crap.... but I like it and I know that most of the other people don't have much respect for lowly first gens. Welll..... so!!!!! I like everyone I meet at the events. I enjoy the rotary talk, and I like the other cars... Just beacuse my car is ugly doesn't mean I am not going to be at events.
Rich brought his first gen on a trailer, with a dented fender from soneone who ran into him earlier that week. He brought the car, we all appreciated what it was and was not.....
Monty, and everyone else.. bring your RX7... we appreciate them all...

Good times though seriously everyone. Most fds I've seen. The one part of my car i didn't clean and someone snaps a shot of it. I knew i should have at least ran a cloth around the outside of that tip.

does anyone in the area know how/have the proper tools to set the backlash and whatever else on a diff? I just replaced the pinion nut and seal because it was leaking, and its making some nasty noise now. I don't really know enough about rear ends to do it myself, and I'd rather have it done by someone who knows what theyre doing. Just wanted to check here before i took it to a shop. I'd be willing to pay a reasonable amount. Thanks!

well since i tried numerious times to reach peter florance and pete. i guess the megasquirt is out of my plans. which isnt bad in a way cause the thing looked complicated to me....
chris brought up a good point and i think rob had also mentioned it too. that the haltech was really easy to install and to program it as well.so i think id finally settled with paying the extra money for something that id really want to get in the first place and something that isnt going to kill my brain in installing it.
but my question to all is where can i get a haltech e6x for a low price and locally if possable? before i buy any other items on my list of things to do to my rx7 like 25 more cans of primer...

I showed you how to reach them. Peter was out at the autocross at Little Creek today. Look over on autocross.us they are both on that site with some regularity. I will tell you that Peter has been fairly busy with his work lately. They are not hard to reach.....

Can you guys put those pictures from the event on our sites (Or let me know that it is OK for me to add them if you can't.
On the meetup site:
http://rx7.meetup.com/55/photos/uplo...AlbumId=104675
add them to the existing album "Hampton Roads Mazda Rotary... Meetup Oct 21st"
and the club photo album:
http://www.hamptonroadsrotaryclub.com/photos/
If you need an ID for the hamptonroadsrotaryclub.com/photos/ site, email me and I will set it up, or else I can just add them.

Otherwise, Summit Point Main was a blast over Oct 14-15. The Squirted 7 is really fun on a track - the 9k limit came in useful through turn 9, where you really DON'T want to shift. The car pulls hard from 3k to 9k, making it one of the most flexible cars I've ever driven. I gave rides to a couple of HPDE 1 students, and a fellow autocrosser. I always find it enjoyable to share the experience with newbies. I'm left with a thirst for more power, though, and all of the solutions to that problem make me illegal for CSP at autocrosses. hmmm.
