They said that PRE-registration is closed.... it will be open again the day of the event. So what you need to do is make sure you are on the access list so you can get into the site. it is a Navy Base, with an access limited area, even with a military ID you can't necessarily get into the site. Then you can show up on the day of the event, best to be there about 9AM, and register the day of the event. If you are there early I am sure you will be able to run.

This thread just goes on and on and on.. we really should have our own group just for the HR area. Calvin and I could happily arrange that on highrpm.net

On another note.. I need a side view, front high view of a 1st gen 7 high-res as possible (would settle for 640x480ish). Working on a paint scheme/advertising scheme for a race car.

Hey--I'd like to meet up with some other RX7 owners too. Hooters on Battlefield May 1st is my vote. I'll keep a watch on the thread for the final decision!

Autocross is at Litttle Creek Amphibous Base. The site is huge, clean and smooth.

Here are some pics from phooka at site to give oyu an idea:

Date is this Sunday (Apr 18th). Go to this web site and get yourself on the access list:

http://www.tidewatersportscarclub.com

Pre-registration is closed right now, but if you get on the access list and show up about 9-10AM sunday you will be able to run. Get on the ACCESS LIST.

I am giving until friday night about the RX7 get to gether at Hooters. So far everyone is fine with Battlefield. I also forgot to ask if everyone preffered afternoon or evening (since we are talking about a Saturday). What I am going to suggest is about 4PM or so... Unless there is a complaint about that.

I went ahead and put myself on the access list for the autocross--hopefully I will get to run, but if not, maybe I can get to meet some of you guys.

My main interest is track days but I have done quite a bit of autocross with some clubs here in NC and with NASA-VA (back when they were running at VMP). Look forward to catching up with some fellow "rotorheads"

Show up and I am sure you will be able to run. Getting on the access list is the important part. Be there around 9-10AM and you will be able to enter.

NASA-VA still runs at VMP. They ran an event there last sunday. I had planned to go, but I had to much family stuff to deal with on Easter.

We have tried to get some place at Langley over the years... it ain't gonna happen. We have used helicopter areas here at *** Norfolk... they were nice. As big as we needed a place to be. But Langley has never been receptive.

Unhappy

Nothing worse than a flooded RX7. Thankfully I haven't had that problem in a while.

I have always had the best luck with the method where you run the starter without the fuel pump fuse to try to clean out the unburned fuel and then trying to start again after you put the fuse back in. Sometimes it takes a few tries though.

Be sure to change the oil though soon afterwards. If they flood badly, it really contaminates the oil with gas.

Good luck.

i've did the EGI comp and Injector fuse trick millions of times.. I think im going to have to take out the spark plugs, dry them up, and crank em without the bottom 2 spark plugs.. if that won't work my last resort is the ATF trick, and I'm kind of scared to put tranny fluid in there..

Don't be afraid of the ATF. I have done it several times. In fact I am now at the point that when I start a car after an engine rebuild or after it sits for a long time, I will do the ATF trick always to get it started the first time. I am of the opinion it is good for you engine to do this occasionally, definately not bad for it.

I will admit I have only really worked with NA first gens, but I would still probably do the ATF trick on a turbo car as well, but like I said I have never used the trick on those cars.

don't be surprised if half of the people who raise their hands, don't show up

That's just how rotor fans work, unfortunately!
