Well it's new thermostat time. At least I'm installing one this weekend. Hopefully it'll fix my overheating issues.

Hey guys - I have some stuff that needs to find a home. If none of you want them, I'm going to junk them. They are too big to ship, and I need to get them out of here.
Local pick-up, free stuff:
Steel N/A hood from 86 Sport.
Rear hatch with glass, no wiper.
Otherwise, the megasquirt is 1/2 tuned, running well, but still starting poorly. I either have my cranking fuel or timing misadjusted, but lack the time to troubleshoot it. I also need to find the vacuum leak in my intake.
4.3 torsen rear is on the way. S5 wing is on the way. Koni Sport rear shocks are on the way. Kumho v710s are here with some ATS comp lites. Time to stop borrowing a miata for autocross =) Its also time to paint the turd.

Hey guys, I found a 10AE for sale near my house. It's so clean I thought it was Randy's for a minute. The exterior of the car is near mint. I don't know much about it, nor the miles, but the guy who owns it knows what he has, and is proud of it. $7900. I'm contemplating it, but not sure yet. If I do get it, it's getting a RB exhaust ASAP.
You guys think it's worth the money granted it's got less than 100k miles? Interior looks beautiful as well. Leather has -some- wear marks, but not bad. Otherwise, interior looks mint as well. Garaged car, so I'm thinking this might be a 1 owner.

Well, I got a new thermostat from Ray last week and today I finally got a chance to take out the old one. Boy did it look bad! Half of the outside of inner rubber ring was missing. Took the old stat and dropped it in a pot of water and set it to boil. Nada, it didn't open up at boiling nor on the way. Just to double check I dropped the new stat in the pot, she opened up right away. Now I just gotta install the new one, flush out the rest of the cleaner/washer, fill her up and burp!
BTW, is there any chance of the missing rubber cloggin up the coolant passages in the block?
Should I put anything on the rubber gasket of the new thermostat before I put it in? To help it seat.
