Yoshi.. Important thing is to make sure your battery tie down is good and holds the battery tightly in place. I don't know tire pressures that FD's typically run, but I would guess at least 30 or so in the rear and 35 or so in the front tires. Get air before you get there. Other than that just come out, relax and enjoy it and try to do as well as you can. It is lots of fun.
Pete is the FC I have some pictures of on our site, the sort of pweter color one. His car is an 86 as I recall. Carl's is the white 79 that was at AIK with us recently. Tyler posts somewhere, I just can't rememebr where. I thinkhe posts here in the Richmond section or something.
Kenny, Phooka still has the FC. It is at his house, he still can't do any car work. I think it has both of those parts still. I no longer have the 86, but I may be getting another (how do these things fall on me?). I still have plenty of parts from the 86 if you need something, let me know what and I will see if I still have it. I am picking up the car from Dale, possibly this weekend. If you have not gotten those two parts, I will take them off before I send it away. I will be removing some stuff for Dale so I can get a few more things if you need.

Hey all... I'm in town for a few days, working on the 7. I just put on my new fuel pump, a Walbro 255, works great! The car runs much better than with the old fuel pump, but I'm still having a problem. The car is a Turbo 12a, blowthrough setup using a Weber 45 DCOE. The car is still stuttering at high rpm's under full boost. I can't figure out if it's knocking, because I've never heard a rotary knock. It's more of a popping sound coming out of the exhaust, with a loss of power, hmmmm. I'm gonna try moving the vacuum/boost source for my rrfpr to the manifold instead of the line that goes from the turbo to the wastegate actuator. I live over in the Western Branch Chesapeake, just in case someone knows what's up and wants to give me a hand . Actually, I'll drive to someone's place nearby if they think they might know what the problem is...

haha, you guys are crazy. I've been to autozone before, they didnt have any over here. I'll hunt around some more today. There's always something with this car!
Apparently my ignition can't keep up under full boost/high rpm's/crazy rich mixture. Guess i'll be trying that fc coil conversion all the first gen guys are doing....

FWIW, Pete (autocrosses the second gen I have mentioned, some of you have met him, will be out at ACU-4 next Sunday) has a megasquirt on his NA FC. He dynoed it last weekend and people were congratulating him on the results. Here is what he said:
169.2 rwhp @7720rpm
137 lb-ft @4860rpm
The RX-7 had some ignition breakup way up high (~7350) on the first two runs, and at 7850 the last run. DTP thought there could be a bit more up on top if I can get rid of the breakup. Fortunately, the megasquirt will do all kindsa stuff for that. Also, AFRs were about 13.2-ish all the way up to 5300 rpm, then they dropped to 10.1 up to redline - again, the MS will find HP by leaning this out.

I redid my intercooler/radiator schroud in aluminum today, and my brother welded me up a nice simple tubular manifold for my turbo. Both are turning out incredibly well, and the car should be up and running again tomorrow afternoon. I need to pull out some pictures when I get a chance. Oh yea, whoever slapped together my turbo (a heavily modified s4 turbo, the only thing original on it is the exhaust housing) rigged up the wastegate so it stayed partially open all the time, and I wasnt able to adjust it so it would close. No wonder I was spooling up so slow! I fixed that, the car should be much quicker when I get everything back together. I rode in a neon srt-4 today, kinda slow compared to the old 7

Gambler, the car is at Dale's, call him on cell and arrange a time. His hand is still not working so you have to remove it yourself, but he will be there more than he has been in the past (not working here so many hours).
