Speaking of FD engine I got a sweet deal on one It only had about 3k on her. Im seriously thinking about swapping the FC engine out. Any one ever do this ? Look at the compression. I turned it over with my angle drill.

Yup, that is them. FWIW, Royal Purple is good stuff. I should probably be using it.
If you haven't read it, check this out. It is the only reference to rotary engines by any oil company that I am aware of:
http://www.royalpurple.com/techa/faqsa.html#re0
I have been told that the one of hte principles of Royal Purple is from the rotary engine road racing world. So they probably paid more attention to rotaries than most oil companies.

Yeah, I use RP in the FD, but I haven't been able to find the 20w50 stuff or the gear oil. J&J has it ALL, even Purple Ice. I'm gonna give it a try.
Good link Cal. I actually found it after I started using RP, per Brian's suggestion.
Is there any advantage to using their racing oil in a street car? It's supposed to be better under higher temps. Or is that just against viscosity breakdown and my car will never get THAT hot?

You think the engine oil is expensive? Try premixing $9 a quart oil into EVERY fillup. That's the treatment I did to the last motor.
Oh yea, it was my DD too.

BTW, we heard automatic gun fire out by our house, sounded like it came from a car on LaSalle. A BUNCH of us called the cops. They did a decent job of checkin' things out.
Familywise, my son's test results came back negative for Cystic Fibrosis and his liver function is almost normal. The doc is still going to do a DNA test for the CF mutated gene. Now we've just got to figure out his pancreas issue. But I can't tell you how relieved I am that my son doesn't have CF. A good chunk of CF sufferer's don't make it to adulthood.
