Monty,
sounds like the carb isn't working right, fuel filter might need to be changed or compression in the engine is not up to par. Make sure you check and see if you get spark on the plugs. It can be an igniter gone bad. Then again, If you have no problems starting it and then after WOT it doesn't start then you might have a bad coil at least on the leading side.....

Hey everyone.... A few sort of important announcements.
First, our January meetup will be at AIK. Last time the turnout was sorta weak, but it is January, and this is an indoors activity. Yeah we hang out and BS about the cars, but we also walk inside and warm up a little. It will be the usual 3rd Saturday, which looks like January 21st. According to AIK's schedule, that will be a super track night. So we can run the big track for anyone interested.
Second, If you really enjoyed the Performnce Challenge at Zoom Zoom Live, and want to try again, there are two autocrosses comming up in January. One is going to be Sunday Jan 8th at Pungo Fairgrounds. The other is curently scheduled on January 22nd also at Pungo. It is entirely possible that the event location my change, but the event will happen on that date. I will keep everyone informed, and I will also post the registration information.
Third, If you enjoy the autocross, but want to try something just a little faster, Jon Felton and the people at NASA are putting on an autocross at the small track at VIR. It is a 1.1 mile road course, with medium-fast speeds. It will be a sort of in-between type event between a regular autocross and a full out road race track event. This is one car at a time against the clock. Speeds will be a little higher than highway, but not the all out of the big race tracks. I plan to run this event, it sounds great to me!!!! I have been wanting to try out this race track and just haven't had the chance. If you want to taste the excitement of being on a race track, but don't quite yet feel comfortable with the flat out speed, this might be the thing. He has posted a notice in this forum:

Check it out. If we get a few of us going, it will be a great time.

Monty,
I'm working tomorrow (sunday) and monday thru thursday, then I leave to NY, so there isn't a chance for me to come by. Sounds like the carb is possibly flooding, but I'm not too sure on that. Why don't you post in the 1st gen forum and see what kind of replies you get. Most of those guys are pretty helpful there.

I'm sorry I couldn't hang out a little longer. The wife was getting sick and she's pregnant so I had to call it a night a little early, I would have loved to chat for a while but maybe at the next meet if I can make it out.
