i have a 90 rx7 na for sale here in hampton, just wanted to know if any of you local guys wanted it before i put on the sale forum, the car knocks when it starts up, real bad, will go in gear and drive but not far before it cuts off, now battery is completely dead so i would have to swap in a new battery to demonstrate. I have no clue what is wrong with the engine, or if it is the engine. but im moving really soon to cali and dont want to tow it all the way out there, plus im busy with school, please pm or call chris 593-3732

Well Seth/Self/Sel I can't remember his name talked about what Will did to his car, and how he possibly installed used parts. Then Greg kicked in with his experience with him and I mentioned how he screwed you. Just general stuff.

I can comment on the antique plates. I think that the car needs to be 25 years old to get them. There are some restrictions on antique plates about how much you can drive the car and the like. In the past you were only allowed to drive the car to and from car club events and to and from repair shops. The rules have changed, but if you try to use one as your sole daily driver, expect to run into some problems somewhere along the line. If it is a car you only drive on weekends, you can probably get away with it. Check out the DMV web site. It has the rules for antique plates online. But your thought is right that you don't have to renew the plates and you don't have to get the car inspected. I have them on the Shelby.
FWIW, there have been some articles in the newpapers lately about the "Antique plate loophole" that some people are using to get a junker around state inspection, so don't be surprised if the rules for this change sometime in the near future.
