There is a place in tipp city not too far from you called warrior racing they can probably check it out. I know they work with turbos. The best place is the rx7store in columbus, I don't know if your car is your daily driver or not but if you have the time to spend without it then it can go over there and keep my fd company, last time I checked it was 3rd in line. But anyways the rx7store is the best at what they do. Good luck

Defined!!!! Defined autoworks!! http://www.definedautoworks.com/ They are AWESOME guys. Really give you and your car the personal attention it deserves. Not like some of the cookie cutter, get in and get out shops. Give Logan a call, and he will get you set up right. Reasonable prices also from my experience with them. Tell him Bill with the white FC sent you.

I just left there earlier today and I didn't see a white FC. Don't let that scare you though LOL. My eyes were fixed on my refreshed 13b.
You will not be disappointed with Logan and Peter.

Nah, don't be. I really just dropped in to pick up my engine. I didn't look around the shop much because I was talking about MoPar cars with Peter and the guy that runs the shop across from Defined.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents into this for people looking for dyno tuning in Ohio.
I contacted Defined about getting my car tuned. They said that they don't have their own dyno and that they needed to contact another company that had one. They said they would call me back when they could contact the dyno company and set up a time. They also said that after they contact the dyno company it would probably be around a month before I could get the car tuned as this is the busiest time of the year for dyno companies.
I didn't hear back from them for 3-4 days and contacted them again. They said that the dyno company is hard to reach and that they'd call me as soon as they could reach them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited another two weeks but still no one called.
I then called RX7store and was able to schedule a time for the following week on the day of my preference. RX7store also rents out a dyno to perform tuning as they no longer have their own in house dyno.
Moral of the story, until Defined gets their act together with finding a better dyno company I'd recommend going to someone else.
Edit: Just wanted to add that I've been more then impressed with the work that Defined has done and I don't want this to come off as a negative review of the quality work that they do. There's a reason why I called them first to get my car tuned and waited two weeks hoping to get my car tuned by them. I just think that waiting nearly two months for tuning in the limited driving season we have in Ohio is excessive.

I believe that zn performance is the rx7 store. They do know their stuff but they are extremely busy. Maybe I will get to drive my fd sometime this summer as it has been sitting at the rx7 store for a while now. Wish me luck.

Same place ?????????
I dont think so, different address' too . Read "about us" on znperformance.com website.

Sorry I blew up, three months ago I had dropped my car off at the rx7 store service department. Now on the rx7 store website they said all their work is being done at zn performance. Looks to me like a change of name/address has been done since I have been there tues at 1/4 til 5 I was in cbus thought I would pop in and check on my car maybe that's why it was a ghost town because everyone was at the new shop 3492 or 3488 idk. Like I said before who ever it is that does work for the rx7 store knows what they are doing. I was waiting on a call Friday and will be calling tomorrow I will keep you posted on the name of the shop as I am curious myself.

Now I'm not sure ?
Well, I think its fair to say your right that they know what they are doin. I may have jumped the gun on what I said earlier though, duno. Just checked out RX7 STORE and saw where it says installs/service done by znperformance?
I try to stop by the shop whenever I can. Usually during the day on my lunch break, but I've been tied up at work alot more here lately.
Which car is yours? What are you havin done? You should go w/us to the IMPORT FACEOFF on August 29th.
You know when it comes to your rx7 nothing is ever quick enough. I have thought I waited on parts a little to long from them, but I was always very satisfied in the end. Like I said though, seems like whatever it is w/a 7 it always takes longer than you would like.
I like all those fellas, they are good people.

All of the shops listed seem to be in/near Columbus. Does anyone know of any that are more towards Cleveland? I am flying to Akron from CA to test-drive and possibly purchase a '93 FD and need to find a shop that will give it a once over for me. Anything would help - even a dealership that could at least do a compression test!
Thanks!
Thanks!

I got my FD a few months ago and I need a good once over/tune at its current state. I also need an estimate on a rebuild on my engine, it's at 101k (apparently it was rebuilt once but I don't have paperwork on when). It sounds like you guys have been to both shops in Columbus, which would you have do your rebuild?
Also, does anyone know of any shops in Cincinnati? I know the guy who does rotary work for Jake Sweeney down here. He rebuilt my buddies engine about 8 years ago but I'd be interested in other options.
Another option would be heading up to Banzai Racing in Indiana. Where should I go?!

husafan, i go to akron every couple weeks...livin in c'bus...you know its about a hr and half or two hr drive right?
where you planning to take it back out to cali?
again stompz, not that far from cinci...if youre considering banzai(not to talk badly on them), as its much further from cinci than c'bus, im sure these guys at either one of the shops talked about here, can do just as good a job as banzai...its all about what you want done cause there are many options.
banzai is a major company, i could be wrong but, you may get a better deal from defined or rx7store. guess youd have to call each one and see what they say.

Yup, I figured that out. Thanks though. I ended up using Classic Mazda in Mentor - they had two guys that were familiar with FDS'. I plan on shipping it to Pettit Racing in Florida and then, yes, back to Cali.
