I'm worried about their unmarked cars, like the Stratus or Intrepid or whatever it was that lit up the guy next to me in the mixing bowl... Or the Mailbu that I saw parked at the station near my parent's house.

If that car is "real"... I got 5 bucks it never goes out on patrol. Its main use would be as an anti-street racing or anti-whatever tool...

You know... they park it at a school and say, "if you street race, we'll take your car"... "if you buy drugs or prostitutes in your car, we'll take your car"... etc, etc.

Personally, I'd rather blow my car up with dynamite than ever let some cops take it.

Fairfax county has 4 camaro ss or Z28's and 2 are marked and 2 are unmarked. They also have other toys they don't let the public know about. I've been chased and gotten away from one of the comaro cops in clifton (i was being stupid and this was about a year ago) I got away but he was definitly catching up as i was sliding around turns. They have performance suspension and engine upgrades on all their toys. I'm not suprised to see the BMW. My friend got his car takin away when he raced an unmarked camaro cop. I've also seen a CRX pull over someone on the parkway before. SCARY stuff, gotta watch for those sneaky ********. I HATE FAIRFAX COUNTY COPS.

 

Looks like the county got jealous of Falls Church having all Volvos.

Yeah instead of doing anything about real crime like the rising rate of gang violence around NOVA/DC... they try to bust people for SPEEDING.... Worthless.

 

As of 2:30 ish this afternoon, I can attest to that car's existance and they DO use it on patrol.

Pele, I got more chaos theory for ya. I posted this thread today. Then I got pulled over by the po-po today.

I was minding my own business, doing nothing wrong. Saw the unmarked Crown Vic. He was in the far right lane, make a right turn. I needed to make that turn too. So I got behind him. Once we both made the right turn, we're in an area with a constant curb...no turns/entrances etc. He slows down to like 3 mph, so naturally I pass him, but know what's gonna happen next. Yep... As I think to myself...NOT AGAIN...


A plain clothes officer steps outta the Crown Vic. Asks me what the hell I'm doing with an illegal car. Of course, I'm caught totally off-guard by his aggressive demeanor, and gotta play like I'm his biatch cuz I don't want a roadside inspection revealing the 1001 violations I have, including no cats or airpump. So he goes on about my illegal exhaust, my stickers that are illegal, my radar detector, blah blah, and tells me he's not gonna give me a ticket (cuz he can't...he's off duty and has nothing with him), and just saved me about $1000 in fines, BUT he's taking down my license plate and entering it into the computer for having warned me about these illegal items.

Here's the clencher. He tells me that they're not giving tickets out anymore for illegal cars like this (Illegal? Are you kidding me?). He says they're impounding them. At which point I start getting heated...and am trying to keep my cool. He's like yea...with these kinda cars, they're great for the track, but keep it off the streets. We'll impound it.

I'm not gonna say anything to incriminate me, but lets just say you're gonna have to put a bullet in me before you impound my FD. I have the RIGHT to get as many violations as I want and keep on paying 'em...you can't impound a car for multiple violations. I've NEVER read such a statute, and I'm gonna ask around about that (CosmigBang, you reading this?). They better not be instituting a Cali-like law where modified cars are subject to impounding, even if they don't do anything against the law. This is SUCH BS.

As for the exhaust, I'm seriously gonna get this taken care of once and for all. I'm sick of this garbage. Does anyone local have a Mazdaspeed exhaust? The VA laws specify that the exhaust can't be louder than the OEM exhaust. I want to grab a Mazdaspeed exhaust (temporarily), and have it tested at a decible meter-equipped testing station. I'm sure that exhaust is loud as HELL. Then I want to compare it w/ a few exhausts we have, including mine. I have a feeling mine will be no more louder than the Mazdaspeed one (provided I put the cat back on). And if I have that DOCUMENTED, I dare any cop to give me or anyone else an exhaust ticket, as long as the exhaust we're running is one that's been tested and documented to be quieter or as loud as a Mazdaspeed exhaust (which is technically OEM equipment).

So if anyone has a Mazdaspeed exhaust, preferrably a very loud one, PLEASE let me know. It's time we fight back...

Wow, sorry for the "bad" luck Ramy. Illegal car....that's funny!!! I think he was just super jealous that he can't afford such a nice car/ prob. never seen one before. As for the exhaust....i'll let him listen to mine too!

Good point about the impoundment too....i don't think you can impound for multiple violations.
