Englishtown Raceway closing for good?
I've been hearing rumors from a few reliable sources that Englishtown Raceway has sold the track to a real estate development company. I've searched online but did not see anything.
Anyone hear anything like this?

The people that live around the track have been trying to get it shut down for years, they complain about the noise and the cars racing through the streets after they leave, but honestly what did they expect; the tracks been there for years and years so in most cases the track was probbaly there first, before those people complaining even bought a house there. I haven't heard the rumor where they sold it to a developer but maybe they got tired of fighting those people.

Good thing you said that.
Last november, the last time i been there before the winter closing, they said something about that. They said there were rumors of them shutting down and they said it wasnt true. Its a very famous track, known throughout the whole country and possibly the world. I doubt the local neighbors had any power to actually made them just shut down. Unless those locals were very rich and had to pay someone but i dont believe it.
At least not for another couple of years.

I guess they got a lot of calls on this issue since they updated their website!
RUMORS RUMORS ... RACEWAY PARK HAS NOT BEEN SOLD!...
Those pesky rumors never stop but, I assure you that our business is going strong. It is not for sale, or been sold. Our business has been family owned for its 40 years and we're here to stay. Why people still circulate these rumors, I don't know but, if we were closing, why would we add a Moto-X practice track in 2001 and a karting track in 2002, build the Top End Zone in 2005, and are building a roadcourse, if we were just going to close up shop. It just doesn't make sense but, people love to gossip and unfortunately, rumors spread quickly. Please reassure all your friends we're not going anywhere. we thank you for your years of patronage and look forward to seeing you for many years to come.
Sincerely,
David Napp - Manager

We have it setup like this so it keeps outsiders from finding their way arround. If you from jersey it all makes sense

that would have been a catastrophy!!!!! Where would we go if Etown closed???? Atco, island??? too far and too ghetto...
With the amount of racers and enthusiasm i'm pretty surprised there arent more tracks open in our area. At least we can always count with etown...which btw, when the hell are they opening that damn road course???
