Don't let Sunoco slightly rip you off

Ok, this isn't a lot of money but its still deceptive.

We all remember the good old days when Sunoco sold 87, 89, 93, and 94 octane while everyone else sold 87, 89 and 93.

But now Sunoco has dropped 94 and we see 87, 89, 91, and 93 while everyone else is the same. I've found 2 Sunocos where the highest price they post, typically $.20 higher than 87, is not for 93 but 91. And 93 is an extra $.10 on top of that. Specifically, the Sunoco on the corner of Street and 611 was priced that way.

So look out for the Sunocos who label their highest grade gas as "premium". The straight ones seem to list their best as "Ultra93".

Its only like a $1 difference but still, its not right.

If you wanna save w/ Sunoco, get their Sunoco Mastercard. Automatically gives you 4% back on EACH monthly statement

True, but if you're a big spender, you'll reach their $300 max pretty quickly. Plus you have to wait for a while until you reach that $300 max in order to qualify to GET that rebate. Sunoco MC has no maximum IIRC, and it's applied to your account on EACH monthly statement. Ie instant savings. So the more you use, the more you save.

Yeah, been there. I was going to this Sunoco near town pretty religiously for my Ultra 94. The attendants even knew who I was, but I was never informed that they switched formulas around. I ended up filling up on Ultra 93 and wasting my money. I felt like I was ripped off after I noticed the little yellow sticker on the pump "Ultra 93".

Jehan, Sunoco dropped 94 a WHILE ago. There were even a few threads about it in this section (I know because I started one of them )

Ramy,

Sunoco stations near me only dropped 94 just a few months ago ...

It may have been a regional phasing out process ...

I had a Sunoco station exactly 1 mile from my house that sold 100 octane. Next thing you know, they stopped selling it. With my mods I never needed it, and now realize 94 was just a waste of money for me, but I knew a few people who did.
