Demetrios into the 7's

Congrats to Demetrios and the whole team for breaking into the 7's. I think for the weekend they had a total of 3 high 7 second runs. What makes it even more impressive was the air temps of ~100, and track temps over 150 at times. Looks like even better numbers coming once they get into cooler air! The good times also got them into their first final of the year, where they lost with an 8.22.

Enjoy the pics

The last run of the day in the Finals was their only time in the right lane, so I was taking pics from the right side. That f'n thing damn near blew my ear drums out on launch. After the run Demetrios told me they turned up the Nitrous a bit for that run, which explains the killer launch. He had the solara at 1000 feet, but it sputtered a bit up top. Oh, and I think they red-lighted on the last run too but who's counting.

congrats Dee, i like the new paint scheeme alot better than the last one too.

ryan, i was in the St Louis area on sunday i called you to see if there was anything going on at the track, but i saw like 4 dozen vipers on trailers so i figured there was a viper event going on.

Thanks i appreciate all your support. The team did a great job in unbearable heat, I thought i was going to pass out in the car I got a little jumpy in the finals and red lit but stayed in it for about half track to collect some data with the bigger turbo. Hopefully before the year is up we will reach our goal of a mid 7sec pass with a 13b. Ryan keep up the great work it is awesome that we have a rotary powered publication out there. Hope to see you in memphis this weekend.

I can't be in Memphis this weekend unfortunately, but best of luck to you! You never know, it'll be cooler this weekend than last ... so you might shave off a couple tenths!

You wouldn't think the track temps would matter much for performance due to him spraying nitrous. On the other hand, the higher temp track will help him hook better.

We will be in atco nj the end of august. The High track temps make it very dificult to get traction the rubber on the track gets greasy. A warm track is good but a hot one is bad. and unfortunatley we only spray a 50 shot for the first .5 seconds of the run so we do not get the benefit of cooler charge going down the track, but we may start spraying it the whole way down the track soon.

Yea, the track was so hot they thought about canceling the event. After burn-outs some guys were reporting tire temps of 220-240, which is blowout time! And in that heat it gets really greasy, like Dee said.

Congrats Dee!

Can't wait to see the numbers with the nitrous going down the entire track. Hey, do you have any in car vids or any videos from the weekend?

We will be in atco for the nopi race and i believe there is one more nhra race at englishtown that we plan to attend.

As for the extra spark plugs they are the secret to making big power with a 13b. Just kidding they are just taking the extra post on the dual post coil and putting it to ground. It does not have to be done this way anymore but my car has been like that forever and i am a firm believer in not fixing something that aint broke
