Monthly Sushi Night for Lower Tri State Rotaries(MD,PA,DE) - Page 115 - RX8Club.com

Looks like a few RX7 guys I know on facebook (dont know their names on here) are going. Bunch of RX8s as well. 10 minutes down the road is a indoor gokart place so racing will probably ensue after eating uncooked fish. Sounds like a blast to me!

Well, I do love sushi and rotaries. But what meet are you planning on attending? it looks like they are setting one up in DE for 3/22.

Or (as your link directs us) are you saying that there is a meet on 11/14/09 in White Marsh that you have a time machine to get to? Cause, I'm down for some time travel.

BTW, everyone keep your eyes open for the spring cruise thread. It will be scheduled as soon as the weather turns for good and we get a couple rains to clean the salt/sand off the streets (late March early April). Here is last year's :https://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-foru...013-a-1029303/

Who owns the red FC with a black front bumper and hood that's at the Advanced Auto Parts on Route 1 through Hoodbridge (Woodbridge), VA? I pass that car all the time and I was wondering if it was anyone on here?

Toroids I'm sorry I didnt include more info. I was referring to the meet that is Saturday 3/22 in Delaware.

The guy running the meet said we will be taking a trip 10 minutes away after the food for some indoor go karts!

If anyone here has facebook, add me - Dave Detweiler . My picture is white green jacket in the snow.

no issues, I was just messing around.

I'd be interested if it was later in the day, but I'll probably be at an AutoX that day until 3pm. Maybe next time.

I probably won't make it to DE this time. I'll finally make one or your cruises though, Rocky. I've got a car that works now!

I'm a sucker I bought a 400whp '88 vert, it was a good deal. It came with a ton of extras too.

The GTUs will be going back together N/A with TII drivetrain(2-way diff and a LW flywheel) so I can still drift it. I still am going to pull the engine and do some stuff to prep it for a Turbo, but this way I might actually have both cars on the road by the end of the summer.

I see you bought another Triumph! I just looked up the GT6, it's a beautiful car and has to be a blast with that drivetrain!

Define prepping it for turbo? I'm running a TII drivetrain in mine and want TII swap it eventually.

For the engine I'm going to install Turblown studs, an FD oil pressure regulator, a TII oil pump, and tap the front cover or swap on a spare S5TII front cover for the oil drain.
Drivetrain it's getting an SR Motorsports 7 1/4# flywheel, ACT HDSS clutch, TII trans, and a TII rear with an ATS Deftforce 2-way LSD unit.

I might even install my Microtech if no one buys it by then.

I'll need all the help I can get!

I support all of these plans.

Rocky, I require more information about said car... is this the same one you've had for a while? or a new GT6? you need to bring it out to fedex.

No, the car has some shitty super low profile Yokohama S-drive tires and a rock hard suspension. So it isn't that fast right now, the motor just overpowers the available grip. I think it would be faster with 150hp on these tires. I'm trying to locate some 15x10 Slot-Mags to put A6s on it and hopefully balance out the handling/grip a bit. It's not my driving either (probably), I put last years GStock National Champion in the car to have a go and he almost looped it in the first turn. He came back around after one run to tell me that I am insane After a couple runs though he commented, 'all this car does is transition.'

Yeah this is the one I've had for a little while now. I still need to get in touch with your friend that has a GT6 too, but as you can see the cars won't have much in common. I'll have it at a couple of CDC events this year if you want to check it out, I'd appreciate any comments you would have on the suspension tuning of this thing. It has a C4 corvette rear end in it that has been shortened. This is causing some weird camber curves. I have some ideas about how to fix it but I'd like a second opinion. Also if you know anyone with a set of 5x4 3/4 15x10 rims and/or 275/35ZR15 A6s I'd like to borrow them to check fitment/offsets before I spend a bunch of money on stuff that wont fit. I'll bring it to run at Fedex once I get it sorted, I may stop by with it to do some recon before hand though.

That was my original plan, then I got the vert for a great deal.

I'm going to get the car prepped for it as. Uh as possible so I can bring it to fruition when I get rid of the vert someday. It's going to be N/A for a while though.

Is owning a GT6 a precurser to owning an RX7?

Working on my '67 GT6 in high school circa 1982

HAHA Awesome pic Tom. Do you still have it? I've heard a lot of interesting comments about the Mark I rear suspension, what was your experience?

In my case I got the Rx-7s first. They are still truly my passion. I just cant get used to the V8 power curve. I never feel like I need to work for the power. It is always there low in the rev range and I feel like I'm killing it if I rev it out. I enjoy my cars screaming with pleasure while I push them to the limit, not just grunting along for the ride...

So when does the 13b transplant begin?

Thinking the same thing. A 13B in a GT6 would be awesome. The GT6 and the RX7 are very similar cars, both very good power to weight ratios, albiet the GT6 was slightly underpowered compared to the RX-7 even with it's weight advantage. I can't even fathom what it would be like with a V8.

The GT6 was my first car, which was a great learning experience in all things electrical and mechanical (British can't build worth ****, which is why i still own a Norton). The GT6 was followed by a '65 Lemans (which i transplanted in a 428), then all 3 gen's of RX7s in succession.
