Holy crap dude, it has been a while. How are you doing? How's the car? Dunno if we are going to get a fall cruise in this year, things kind of got away from me and no one else scheduled it...
#2756
It has! What's up Rocky? Good, life's been busy (got married, had a kid). The car is good, finally back on the street! Working through break in miles currently. Gotcha, well if any other meets crop up let me know!

We can still meet up from time to time, no need for a cruise, there are events happening all the time in VA and MD so a cruise is just a drive to the event and representing the rare breed of decently modded FD's! Unicorns at that!

I've been out of the scene for so long I don't even know where people meet anymore lol.

I have FB, hardly ever log into it.
Glad to hear you're on the mend. That's a serious amount of time to be out of work!

Mike - It's been the best thing that's ever happened. I was so burned out that I hated work in general. Getting the taste of retired life is amazing. I can't wait till I never have to work again.

Sounds like it worked out for the best then. You got a little while till retirement don't you?

Transmission rebuild
So this is a shot in the dark.... does anybody local have a short shifter for the FD transmission for sale?
I'm shipping the tranny I picked up from Ian off to Liberty for a rebuild/upgrade on Saturday. Paul, their rx7 guy, said that if I include my shifter he could make sure it's all smooth and happy. The hitch is that my FD itself (and my shifter) are at the shop in California
I leave for SC on Tuesday and won't be back until Thanksgiving.

I went with Liberty specifically because they will be able to strengthen everything internally while doing the rebuild. A weak point in our trannies is that the main shaft can/will flex at higher power levels under high rpm and load, that can trash the engagement teeth. Liberty produces a beefier and upgraded main shaft that definitely minimizes that. I plan on running equal HP and Torque up to approx 400-440 to the wheels, so it could stress the hell out of a stock FD box.
In addition to the upgraded main shaft, I also went with them for all their surface enhancement options (Metal Enhancements | Liberty's Gears)
Granted, I'm doing this in concert with a very involved build and the $2k I'll spend on the rebuild is a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of what I'm having done.. You could probably get a decent rebuild locally for a significantly lower cost depending on what your goals are.

Roxanne is back!!! I want to recommend RPM/Unique Precision Rotary in Glenville, PA (soon Hagerstown, MD). Mike and the guys did a phenomenal job on my 93 FD. Upgraded her with an RPM Stage 3 Street Port build, 9180 EFR externally gated, Adaptronic ECU, and ABS delete. Thanks to the team for bringing life back to Roxanne. If you are a rotor head with a need for revitalization of your car or just more power, Mike and his guys are the folks to see.

Who is this again? Haha J/K Scott. Glad to see the old girl has returned to form. What are the numbers now? Do you have a dyno sheet? We haven't been meeting up as much recently but we still do every now and then. CFA died for a while during the reconstruction and just hasn't really been the same since. A couple of guys go to morning events now instead so post up if you are heading to a meetup and some people might show up to say hi. Hopefully we get a spring cruise in ~March.
