DC Area thread - The District, NoVa, Maryland

This is a thread for the members in the DC area. I've seen other threads for other locations and figure we need one of our own. It is intended to act as a centralized thread to help organize everything going on. A place for the members nearby (or willing to drive to get here) to post meet-ups and to converse with each other. This is a social thread intended to build a closer knit community in our area.

Feel free to make another thread specifically for an event in the NE Forum and post a link to it here. This will allow us all to be subscribed to this thread and get notifications when a local event is planned. The event does not need to be exclusively for club members, if you are a member in another forum or another group and your event is open to Rx-7s as well feel free to post it. You can include local track days, autocross events, drag racing, fun runs, tech days, go karting, etc. Basically, anything that you are doing with your 7 that you want more people with 7s to enjoy as well.

Agreed, last year was fun. We need to plan it a little more in advance so more folks can make it.

Another CiCi's meet would be awesome. I'm thinking we need to plan another cruise to open up the CFA season too.

You might even be able to convince me to attend a track day. I'm certainly down for a nice season opening fun run and CiCis as well. Got another deployment coming up so I hope I don't miss much.

Good thread Rocky!

Just post up a thread and PM me, I'll sticky it if you wanna start a meet...

As far as me, I'm gonna have to show up in the official RX-7 rescue vehicle, as I'm gonna start stripping the FC for bodywork and working on one of the FBs this spring.

Well it seems like everyone is excited and ready for more meets/gatherings. How about we do a CiCi's meet first and then talk about scheduling a track day or skyline cruise when we get everyone together?

CiCi's sounds like a good plan. Still a little chilly this month.. Is March too early?

For drag racing I typically prefer MIR, it isn't too far and its a full quarter-mile. I plan to go once the weather breaks to check out the effect of some mods. I will post when I know the date so that anyone who wants to tag along, can.

Starbux, I heard you had some issues with your crowd being too rowdy? If you don't mind driving a bit, the CFA meet is pretty tame. Every once in a while there is an idiot that hasn't been there before doing something stupid, but they typically get kept in check by the others around. You are welcome to join us, we need more FCs to show up.

Might still be a bit chilly in March, but we do get some of those weird *** warm days. I do think that April would be a good time for another Skyline run, or something of the sort. We'll have to play that one by ear as well due to the rain that moves in and out.

Bottom line, we need to start getting more people out to these gatherings. We have one of the largest communities of 7s on the east coast, yet all we get is a handful at most of these meets.

Good idea , we have a superior group of Rx7's in the area. I would say we rival the west coast in quality and numbers.

I should be back on the road early April see you at the meets

Ya we did have .... well not crowd control we had litter control. MCDs loved us but Dicks hated us. The cops didnt mind us because they did bust a few people there and well if we are all in one spot... that means we are not out racing.

Imma check out other meet locations this year also.

I love MIR. I came in second there at BOTI in 2008 in my 350z... i miss that car.
