do delaware cops talk to md cops? if not then i might come along, but im NOT down with being reckless, i love my life and my car too much.
how big is the road? ie. how many lanes, pavement quality, surroundings (woods, etc, im not trying to have a deer run out)
if its reasonable it sounds fun.

Thats the WORST place to make a run like that. Cops hawk those roads to the beach every night waiting for folks just going a few miles over the limit. Maybe it'd work during the winter but not on the way to a car show in OC.

i work on state and dover police crown vics from 2-4 am they station one car in each county (there are three) its a two lane road, with plenty of straights mostly flat. i drive half way to work everyday averageing 75 to 80 not trying to jinx myself but ive never been pulled over on rt.1

Rt. 1 is the only major road through Delaware, you're bound to come across a cop soon or later. Usually people who do Cannonball runs are fairly wealthy and/or stupid, so a fat speeding ticket/ wreckless driving fine is no big deal to them. Having a little fun on the highway is okay, but doing a high-speed run across an entire state is just asking for it.

Yeah... uh wait till you get to the MD side. MD State troopers will bend you over and make you their bitch.
Also (preface... Don't ever drive drunk) Don't ever attempt to leave ocean city intoxicated. There are sobriety check points damn near every night leaving out of town on 50, and over the bridge to the isle of wight (can't remember that road, i wanna say 90, used to have a camper over there).

MD troopers will bend you over if theyre doing a stationary speed trap. if theyre rolling they're a bit more lenient. (Was doing 97MPH up I-95 and a trooper tailed and then passed me and kept going. didnt know it was a cop till he was in front of me.)

Last June me and a couple friends ran through Delaware doing like 130 mph from I-95 all the way to Rehoboth Beach on Route 1. It was like 20 cars or more. Then we had to slow down because of all the beach traffic. So it is possible to tear up route 1 at high speeds with no cops around. Fun stuff but not enough turns. Hahahaha!

hah, nice thread resurrection. I used to work for DelDOT, the DE state troopers have dark blue cars and they're good at hiding them. From what I've seen MD troopers on I-95 stand out like sore thumbs and use the same predictable speed trap spots every time. I've seen DE troopers hide in low medians, behind closed toll booths, behind bridge supports and off the shoulder where you can't see them until after you passed them, even with high-beams on.
Apart from that, talking about when you're going to do it on this forum before hand is a bad idea. There is more than one cop on this forum and they've shown up for planned events before.

There must have been some cops out here reading this, because I took my bike out over the holidays (it's a VTX 1300 with straight pipes) and the fuzz was everywhere.
I've lived in DE since 85, and some of these cops were in spots I'd never seen them before - they almost got me a few times. I don't carry on on the bike, but it's easy to be a couple miles over the limit if you're not paying attention.
It's a good thing I was not out with my daughter's pink panther......

so, let us know how it goes when you guys get out of jail!
heh on the cape run were cruising down, i THINK the Cape Expressway or something... uhh Route 6 maybe? at like 120, there was about... 10 of us, and then we took "Service Road" next to it and absolutely hauled *** down the road, about 35 of us in 7's, 8's, and Mazdaspeeds. was a lot of fun.
