Bring along a change of clothes and some tools, and help me get these coilovers on! I figure with all of us pitching in, we can get them installed in about 2 hours. Sound good!?

Y'all bitches think you're cool because you know how to turn a wrench. Well who else in our little crowd knows how to find explosives? Yeah, that's right! Yeah!

If I don't make it tonight it will be either because of weather or me doing the install. Or both.

Better yet, everyone just come by my house around 7 and we can make it a group date. Beer and pizza on me.

Just throwing that out there.

Yes, Kyle gave me a great quote, but I'd like to try and do something on this car with my own two hands. Once they are installed I'll use the money saved to get Kyle to perform a proper alignment. He is pretty booked right now so he probably wouldn't be able to do the work until late next week.

Stuntman Mike !

These are the guys doing my wheel alignment. They have the best equipment to set your FD up.

Hey Mike,

2 hour is pretty good for a first time coilover install. Strongly recommend you allocate 4-6 hours if by yourself. However, once you DIY, you won't turn back!

Call me if you get stuck... I'll PM my contact info

BTW, I know several ways to find explosive... ;-)

Yeah I'd definitely vouch for Kyle, I have a set of Tein SS coilovers on my FD and it was previously aligned by another shop, but the car was a little twitchy and generally unsettled. I thought maybe it's just a result of the LSx swap, but I took it to Kyle and afterward it drives SO well. It cruises around very smoothly but is still sharp and responsive when I want it to be. The proper corner balancing (taking into account my own body weight) and alignment really helped with the overall feel. I'd say a proper setup is a MUST when installing coilovers. If I ever meet you at the Chic-fil-a meet or whatever, I'll let you take a spin in my car so you can see for yourself. Good luck!

Well, it took the better part of six hours, but I got them on!!! I was a little concerned at first as there are many different thoughts on jacking and jack-stand points, but I just used the differential and sub-frame and all went smoothly.

Got the car back on the ground, took her for a spin, and all felt well. I was able to feel the difference, as when the old setup was on I bottomed out at a particular spot on Claiborne Pkwy, but running down that same stretch after the install, no problems.

So next is a visit to Kyle's shop for an alignment, to include some tweaking with the ride height, maybe fool around with the camber, and possibly corner balance. So hopefully the weather will be nice for next Friday and I'll be able to show off my non-monster truck setup. Hell, I might even pop the wheels off again just to do some cleaning back there.

Oh BTW; Carlos, thanks for shooting me that PM. Glad I was able to get it done by myself, but it was nice to know I could call someone if needed. Thanks!

I believe I have some parts coming in this week that I am starting on on friday night but maybe next weekend I will bring my car out on the new wheels/suspension, now that it finally got wet sanded and buffed it is all nice and shiny .
Well it was yesterday until a bird pooped on it.

That's a long drive for you Renzo, but it will be good to have you! Hopefully the weather will hold for this Friday.

Not gonna make it tonight, as mine is still in the shop. Plus, like Andy, I probably would have melted long before I even made it.

Coilovers came in today and I should have them on in about an hour when I get home. Now I can mount my MS01s and get the height right. I know its a hike for me but the meets in Fburg have one RX8 and Hondas with some VWs mixed in, not my cup of tea.
Also is anyone going to MIR to the second NSCRA event this weekend?
