The 2008 Dulles Towncenter Meet Thread

I'm starting this mess up because it's just about that time of year. I swung by CFA last Friday (April 11) and there were people meeting already.

Location: Chick-fil-a/Lowes plaza at Dulles Towncenter in Sterling, VA.
Time: Every Friday 5pm when weather is good
Directions: Take Rt 28 to Nokes Blvd. Right at the first light, right at the next light into the CFA parking lot.

Looks like it's going to get up into the 80's on Friday. I will definitely be showing up at CFA this week (4/18). Hope to see some members there!

If I can talk the wife into letting me go I'll be sure to swing by. Look for the skinny white guy in the huge Cadillac SUV. My 7 is in the shop. Oh what time will ya'll be there?

I work less than a mile away so I'll be there around 5, but most people don't start showing up till 6 or 7. The classic car guys are there early though.

Tonight's (4/25) weather looks warm with a possibility of evening thundershowers. I'll probably swing by since I work right there anyway but I can't stick around too late tonight. Anyone else planning on showing up?

I've been too embarrassed to come, because my tranny main bearing sounds like a bunch of loose change in the dryer. Replacement going in next week, so maybe next time :-)

Hey don't worry about that, my car still has a big dent in the rear quarter panel from a year and a half ago. I'm not driving the FD today though: clean black car sitting in garage + crazy pollen outside = dirty green car.

Nick,

I thought you moved to Jersey, or somewhere towards that direction???

Either way, I had them install the Feed replica side skirts (Shine), and the "Other" RE diffuser, plus my Flying "M" badges. Little pricey for the work, but I can't think of any other shop I would go to. I'll try and post pics of the work tomorrow.

I was hoping to make it out on the 2nd, but I have to work the Apple Blossom festival in Winchester from like 0600-2300. Maybe the following week.

If it makes you feel better Mike, he blew away my estimate also. Its hard to complain when the work was done so well.

We had three 3rd gens this week, and if the weather hold this week we should have five or six this friday. Three single turbos

One odd ball this week was the black Audi R8 that rolled in. OMG

Mmmmmmmm, Audi R8. I still think it looks like: ED 209

Back on topic. You are right, it is hard to complain with such workmanship/devotion to the job. Plus they treat you like family. I just hope I can afford the cost of a full paint job when it comes time.

Back off topic. Anyone want to help me install some parts? When the wife heard how much I spent at Mr. Spoiler, she chased me around the house with a meat cleaver. Thank God she wants our daughter to have a father figure in the house.

So needless to say my habit of spending money on the 7 is now on the proverbial back burner. Parts to install: Greddy oil catch can, polished alternator, polished water pump, polished thermostat housing (think its called that), polished water pump pulley and samco radiator hoses. I have next to no tools and absolutely no mechanical skills, but I can/will provide the car, parts, food, beer or any favorite beverage of your choice, and my hot body. If you like that kind of thing.

Well, that’s all. Any help is appreciated.

Mike

Sounds good to me Nick. I should have mentioned that I would do all the work as long as a knowledgeable person told me what to do.

When all of you guys are enjoying the sights and sounds of Chik-fil-a parking lot this Friday, try to think of me as I slave away at work, protecting the good people of Winchester.

Welcome back Nick

Sorry guys I can't make it this week - going to see a show downtown and have to leave early to beat traffic.

I was at the meet last week, around 6. There were a few chevys, a couple evo's and most notably an Ariel Atom. Didn't see any RX7's though. Guess it was too early.
