That was Jose he always steals the first gen scene. lol.Unless you got a grey first gen followed by a red one (or vice versa) then I doubt you caught me. My father drives rather slow but next time I'm gone from the start.

As for the camera body I use, I know it's not the camera that makes a professional...honestly I could do the samething with a little point and shoot (say a Minolta F300
), but I'd rather not have to work so hard to so the samething. Of course there are some things you simply CANNOT do with a point and shoot (thus I use SLR cameras for all my work).The D1h to me is the best camera that money can buy for what I do, I almost bought a D2h(s) (the camera that Nikon used to 'replace' mine) instead but the quality while truly great isn't quite as good as the D1h to me. I prefer the film like quality that my D1h gives me as opposed to the 'digital film' look that you get with the current Nikon SLR cameras (especially D200 and also D2X), the colors are excellent straight out of the camera, noise looks VERY MUCH (spooky if you ask me) like film grain instead of colorful digital noise. The camera is fast as all hell (5fps up to 27 RAW or 40 JPG shots) shooting and writing files (assuming you use a CF card fast enough to take advantage of the camera). Every feature that I need is there and is actually on the body instead of in the menus (I only enter the menu when I want to change the photos from RAW to JPG or vice versa...NOTHING ELSE). The weight is a fantastic thing to me as I prefer something with a little mass (it weighs 3lbs with the battery in and no lens or flash attatched...yes it's heavy) because it feels good and can help with balance when using a lens that has a long focal length (300mm or more) and heavy weight (3-6+ lbs).
Anyway to finally get to your point the reason the body is still expensive (you can find them cheaper...but you're on your own with that cuz most of the time you get what you pay for) is because it's a pro quality body...the body costs a staggering $4500 when it was brand new! I'm not one of those people that have to have the latest and 'greatest' (I use that term very loosely), I know what I want and what works. I don't care how shiney it is or how many pixels it has (I don't print billboards so what am I gonna do with a 12+mp...though the D2X was nice to use for a while it's simply useless for me right now).

Thanks for the clear up on the 2 cars Jason. Your pics aren't bad at all, some of them are quite good (you should take some of them to photoshop though to give them that 'pop' they have hiding). Don't worry...one day you'll be on my level

Why yes Jason...I WAS hanging out of the car. I snapped a lot of shots hanging out of the window of the car...if we had a van that was quick enough to keep up with the rotaries I would've hung out of the side of the door on the ground and had someone hold my legs. Sadly...there are no 4 rotor vans out there next time I'll try to get everyones number or some walkie talkies so I can do group road photos (aka we'll block off the road for a few shots).
The pic you see there isn't messed with in photoshop at ALL except for the resize so that you lovely people can print it at 8x11 and also to make a wallpaper size for it (and of course a teaser. And remember...it's not the camera but the eye behind the camera. Like I said I could do the samething with your camera it'd just be a bit more effort (maybe). C'mon convince your woman to take some pictures too!

As for the disc I'm finally almost done with the photos that I wanna put on there. I'm not gonna charge very much at all this year (...for pro quality anyway
). Due to all the craziness this year and others leaving before I could get them in there (along with that crazy *** drag schedule) I believe the price this year will be $20 including shipping to anywhere. I know that some of you are crazy and would actually not mind getting them through AIM or MSN or something else, but the file sizes are HUGE for jpegs (ranging from 500kb to 6+mb each...so far 111 of them equal out to 336mb and there are still about 120 to go).While I'm at it I might as well say that if anyone wants their car shot w/o distractions or say you wanna submit something to a magazine (RXtuner, SuperStreet, SCC, Modified, etc) we can set something up and get the best results possible. Or if you just wanna have your car up on your wall (8x11, 11x14, maybe larger 20x30) I'm down for that too.
I can't wait til next year (or the next meet we have) so I can get some more shots with more time cuz this is what I love to do! These shots seem like they make people who've forgotten how special their cars are remember just what they have (from FB all the way to FE).
Anyway I hope to have the rest finished tonight...if not then it'll be tomorrow afternoon (say around 6ish Est. time). Let me know how you guys wanna do it (I won't accept paypal until I've got the goods ready), I'm willing to send them over the net if you really wanna wait that long (I am on high speed but it still takes time and I'll estimate the photos will end up being about half a GB or so).
