I am and that is all that matters
there is a hand full of guys in the STL, Ryan Scott the guy who started this forum *as a STL club* is here. I think a lot of the guys from back in the day would love to see this. I think there is going to be a tuning day in march, it would be incredible if you just got time for a few pulls to see what you put down. That may also help you figure out any changes needed to intake or exhaust. Hell if I have extra cash *in between jobs atm* I would be willing to help pay to see that as I would like to see that info to help pick a build like this or another LOBP *low overlap bridge port* and try to beat my old record of 210hp and 21mpg carb, 240hp 25mpg FI *the carb setup had 2% more average HP and if you don't think thats a lot remember there is a 30hp peak change, thats a big change of torque*

Thanks a bunch guys! Haha sorry disbolical 1 the batteries kept dieing in the worst spot! It was driving me crazy too! Now you have to gets yours runing! I saw that tuning day you're talking about and was wanting to try and make it up for that it all just depends on money. Right now I just have the inake plumbed for the peripheral ports and the side ports are blocked, I still need to get those hooked up. Those are some pretty damn good numbers for a bridge port! Did you change the runner length between carb and F.I.?

yes. It was almost the same but i had changed some little things to make them work better with the given delivery system. The big change was the carb was dual plenum, one for primaries one for secondary. The EFI just had one and was about 2/3 the volume.

hell yeah !!! now that's what i'm talkin' 'bout!!!

hopefully, i'm not jinxing you by saying i think you're over the hump. obviously tuning will take some time and effort, but i think you've done a great deal by getting it to hold an idle while you do your thing on the keyboard. again, congratulations, man. without sounding condescending, i'm very proud of you, dude.

what do you plan to do with your exhaust when the time comes?

Haha, sorry I got kinda video happy. For the exhaust I'd lke to run duals all the way back, but thats alot of weight so I might try and score some 3.5" pipe from my uncle with like 4 mufflers in it . (not really j/k)

Make sure to double check your design in the car as you fab it. I just got done building a header out of pie cuts and it sucks when you spend hours only to find that the header doesn't fit without the engine coming out or having the collector terminate a half inch below the ground.

Yeah, the car wasn't near by when I was putting it together. I got it figured out though, I put a straight piece between the first and second bend and that seemed to make room for the intake pipe. The pipe is 1 15/16" inner diameter, the first runner is about 25" long, the second runner is about 24" long, the collector pipes are 7.5" long and angled 6 degrees, and open to 2 1/4" inner diameter and I'm gunna megaphone it out to 3.5", so I guess I'll see how it performs......

Thanks Hyper4mance, I got the header tacked up, but I really don't like the way I have to attach the megaphone to the collector. I think the pipes got a little outta whack when I was welding it together.

I just bought some mild steel 180 degree bent pipe from jegs and then cut it to fit it together.

Ok so I've been trying to get this thing tuned and I could really use some help! I had it where I was able to drive the car. I took it on a few trips and the last one I made I let the engine slow the car down to a stop sign. Once I took off again the car started running like crap and has ever since. The car will actually hit and start (pretty good and quick) but then immediately die or go back to cranking. If I work the throttle sometimes I can get it to idle around 600-700 rpms and sometimes even rev up. I've been playing with all the settings on megasquirt and the car seems to act the same no matter what I change and it's got me thinking that it's something physical on the engine messed up and not in megasquirt. When I crank the engine or get it running it just shoots fuel out of the exhaust making me think that something has it running very rich or something is screwed in the ignition. I've replaced various electronic things in megasquirt thinking that was the problem, I bought new ngk spark plugs 7's and 9's, I was running DLIDFIS with a 2nd gen coil then switched back and made no difference. I do have spark on all the plugs but after cranking or running the engine the leadings plugs with be fairly dry and the trailing plugs will be wet with fuel. Those are all the clues I can think of right now as to what might be the problem. Anybody that is knowledgeable with p-ports or might have a clue as to what is wrong I would really appreciate any help or suggestions cause it's got me stumped!

well, i will be utterly useless to you with the possible tuning issues, but for the time being you can start with getting some compression numbers to see if the engine is damaged in any way. since the change was sudden and you can pinpoint the moment, it seems like a logical possibility.
