My siamese 6-port project.

I saw all the project threads, thought id join in.

It seems I started this project a long time ago, but now I'm near finished.

Hopefully Ill get this running and the break-in done before DDRR'08.

The link on this is in my signature.

Good luck everyone.

yeah i took a gander at your project. looks pretty interesting. just curious as to your color scheme ... is there a personal meaning there or something?

anyway, just some constructive criticism - i'm interested to see how it performs because i'm a bit unsure what to think of your porting of the secondaries. i'm thinking you could have blended things better. overall though, i commend your efforts to the build of the whole car, not just the motor. it has to feel good.

Well, this project / car overall, wasn't planned, its more of a...spontaneous project.
I think the one definite thing is that its a project. I gota have a project. lol.
I think the way my thoughts went was, "I found a rx7 in a junk-yard, Im going to get it runing," I did that.
Then it was, "I'm going to rebuild the motor with some kind of different porting," technically thats done.
The porting ideas I had started with an aux bridge port, but ended up into the semi joined port.
So thats how it goes with this one. Later on I might turbo charge it.

As far as projects go, I have an seem to have always had some definite ideas that include a rotary engine and a old British sports car. I know a few in my state that have done this sort of thing. But I feel I need some experience before I take on that idea, I want to make it the best I can / put my best into it.

Anyway.
Of course, more updates to come. Got to get it running, break-in, fix more things, butt-dyno results, actual dyno results, 1/4 mi. times, etc.

Oh, the color was spontaneous too, and I know I shouldn't but, I'm doing this on a cheap budget, ironic.
I named the car "penny after all.
So I really don't care too much about details. I know I shouldn't do that either.

regarding your thoughts on putting a rotary in an old British sports car. I currently have a 13b in a '59 (1500 lbs) bugeye sprite. Prior to that I had a 12a in a Lotus Super 7 clone (1300 lbs.). Nice marriages. It both cases the cars performed very well.

i was personally going to get my side plates ported into one big fat port, but changed my plans a went with a large streetport instead.

I'm really curious to see what numbers that port would put down, and what 1/4 mile times.

Well, it runs.
But theres a lot more to do.
A bunch of little not so spectacular things, like, replace the clutch slave cylinder, brake pads and the brake pressure isn't too good.
Replace the clutch and replace tranny & diff fluid with Redline.
Get new tires.
Get injectors cleaned or replaced.
Upgrade ecu.
And the suspension sucks, Im not sure what Im going to do about that.

I still need to put some miles on the engine to get it broken in.
It not my dd, so Im procrastinating. And of course theres the money issue.
It might be awhile till I get dyno results, and till I start driving it like its stolen.

Did you end up reusing the rotor housings with the grooves in them >.< from the original engine?
