Question bridgeport question

Hey, got a quick question. I'm laying out a 6 port half bridge and am wondering if 1/8" (.125") is enough width for a bridge. I'm keeping the bridge at near full thickness (not porting inside the iron, just the actual ports) for good strength, and from the bridged motors I've seen before it should be sensible, but I just want to make sure.

1/8 seems a tad bit too thin. "Bridgeport width start with 7/64" and clean up" - BDC

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know, as I really don't have too much of an idea as few - if any - bridgeport 6 port templates exist. All I really knew is what the bridge was there for and roughly where it has to be, just no hard numbers to get me started.

7/64 is thinner than 1/8. 1/8 is 8/64.

That's a quote from a particular reference I made to a certain sized bridgeport cut I do for most people's irons. I start with a 7/64" titanium drill bit to make the initial holes then upgrade to a 1/8" grinder/stone to even it out. The cut winds up being about 9/64" to 5/32" wide after-the-fact. The bridge itself is about 0.210" to 1/4" when it's said and done. Nice and thick.
