My thoughts on the expansion chamber part... Rotaries have an abrupt pulse to their output like a 2 stroke, so I would think the use of a resonant chamber to accentuate a timed pressure drop at the port could be beneficial for a very specific rpm range. (And hinder at others) I would expect this sort of a system to provide an uneven/peaky output.
I guess I'm just wondering if this was designed by a genius or a nutcase, and curiosity is killing me. I would even go so far as to pay for dyno time, but I don't have a 12a to strap it on. Maybe someday if I ever get my bug running I can bend the primary tubes enough to try it on the 13b but that would be tough. (It's pretty strong)

it appears I will at least get to hear what the expansion chamber exhaust sounds like. Turns out it was probably designed for a 13b. Not sure why I thought it didn't fit. It's going to be a while before I can start the engine but I will post a youtube vid when I do.
