13b Semi PP engine...

I was going to make a full bridge engine but somebody just told me not to do it and go with a Semi PP instead, i did some search and research and now I really like the idea but i could use some advise cause I'm new to this kind of port and Ive seen them carb most of the time and i want it EFI. I know the full peripheral has an individual intake manifold but I don't get how the intake or the throttles will work on a semi pp or what to get or buy for the build so that my question.
Here is what i thought... I'm gonna do it with turbo sides and housings, large street port and exhaust, 9.7-1 rotors, with more lubrication at the bearings and of course the Semi PP but...
1.What intake should i get and what throttle?
2.Are ITB's good for this?
3.What injectors and how many?
4.How will the semi pp work?
Thanx for the help hope for good answers soon cause i really want a nice engine...

If you want something that works and is proven. Unless the pro-jay stuff came leaps and bounds from where their quality was a couple years ago, I'd stay away.

This is the manifold I run from rxparts.com

1. see the RX Parts setup that ErnieT posted above.

2. sure, but you're stuck trying to fabricate your own manifold for them.

3. number or injectors? what fuel ... and what EMS do you plan to run it on? you should check GtoRx7.'s thread on his setup. his is N/A and will likely be closer to what you and your tuner should end up with.

4. not sure what you mean by how will it work?

1. LOL it looks great but I will have to work forever to buy it, someone around told me I can just match the turbo intake to fit the ports... is it true will it work?
2.Forget it...
3.I was planing to use 4 550cc turbo injectors and i saw a 8 injectors throttle body thats why I asked (:
4.I did some research and found some post that they opened the SPP with adicional throttles at some point... again if i use the turbo intake do i have to do that or they will work nicely together?
Thanx for the info.

i'm not sure exactly what your friend told you, but yes, the basic T2 intake gasket can make a template for a flange if you're doing something from scratch. however using the stock T2 lower manifold itself will also take some work. you'll have do some cutting and welding.

Not an issue at all for N/A applications. They have successfully been used in 30+psi without leaking...

I'd say the Pro-Jay is more proven than RXParts, they've been around for longer (although they took a little break) AND RXparts doesn't make a semi-pp manifold for 2nd gen housings.

As far as quality, I can't complain:

The real pricey part is getting a 4-barrel throttlebody. But you can still go with cheaper adapter pieces from Pro-Jay for a stang TB, or try to find a good deal on one. If you want to do this on the cheap, build your own manifold similar to Logan's 20B semi-pp, by adding 2 ITB's for the semi-pp runners through the stock LIM.

When it comes down to it, it's not as simple as just porting the LIM to allow air to flow through the rotor housings. You still need to have a sleeve machined and pressed or threaded through the waterjacket.

im not trying to be a cheap bastard lol but im on a budget and if this works its fine with me... ill send the intake to a shop and they will make it fit the SPP for $175, the housings with SPP and escape port for $250 and the street port on the irons for $225

Man, your from Puerto Rico and you're asking us.
You should have tons of semi p manifolds to choose from.

Don't forget to check <grs-motorsports.com> that's in PR.

That intake from summit is a JW intake made in Rockledge Florida and they are an extremely nice sturdy casting copy to the then Jaytech and know Projay. You'll have to make it a semiperipheral port though, since last I checked JW didn't make them semiperipheral ported. Projay does have them with semiperipheral ports. I have no affiliation with any of these company just figured I let you know. And also there are plenty cars out there(up north, Florida and PR) in the seven seconds with the projay setup and they dont have the seventh hole for whatever thats worth!

Thank you for the info Rx3...
I just discover that the throttle runs 4 injectors but 14mm and mazda 550cc are 11mm so that takes me back the the question what injectors can i use for the semiperipheral build? I dnt wanna run lean or something and damage the engine....

Is there a reason I seem to only see these types of manifold and throttle body setups on "drag" cars? Would a road race or 500hp trackday car benefit from these parts?

I'm planning on using a GZ LIM with 4x1000cc injectors. I'd like to purchase a new UIM but the options are slim. Could this setup, rxparts.com, be effective for my needs?

Thanks!
