1/2 bridge spark plug fouling

Just a quick question, I just finished building my motor, and the spark plugs are fouling easily. I'm not sure if my ignition advance is too much, not enough, or what (I'm peaking at about 32* from 3200rpm on). Also, I'm running the stock ignition with stock plugs, would I possibly need to change the heat range of my plugs? Or is it normal on a fresh bridgeport to do this until it's broken in, and I'm just flipping out about nothing?

it will burn oil until the oil seals properly seat. give it time. plus the pre-lube is prolly gunking up the plugs and is slow to burn off. clean plugs with brake cleaner and toothbrush then reinstall.

32 is a ton of advance, and one bad tank of gas it'll detonate.

I use 28* on the 12a j bridge for a saftey margin.

back it down to 20 at least for the break-in.

what exactly are the plugs? 7 and 9?

yeah, 7 and 9, but I was doing a street tune on the motor before with just a street port and it actually was making it's best power at about 42* (it lost power above 45 and started to knock at about 48), which I backed down to 38 for safe keeping, and backed it down to 32 for the break in. Otherwise that's all I needed to know. I was just worried because the last motor I built didn't give me nearly as much trouble. Oh, and of course I'm premixing the gas 100:1.

How are you verifying the timing degrees?

I had the ignition zeroed in, and I'm going off of the haltech ign map I'm running.

I would maybe double check the pulley set, is it a oem crank pulley? I have had much better dead nuts accuracy from a racing beat main pulley. Because a long time ago I had similar issues with the haltech, and the pulley was the culprit.

Well, I should correct this. I just realized that I zero'd the ignition with it locked at ~17* advance, so in reality I was actually about at 30* advance. I'm dumb. Either way, I just picked up the RB main and double sheave alt pulley's, mainly because I'm tired of trying to zero the stock pulley after I took it off. That and it was bent.

Oh, and the motor should be going back in the car today as it's supposed to be warm (30ish) and I don't have to work due to a parts shortage. The stock radiator decided to blow out on me (since replaced with the corksport power series rad, very nice) and I inadvertently melted the front coolant seal and burned up the bearings. yay.
