I'm also wondering where to get PFC tuned. I was planning on learning for myself, but I'd like to learn from someone instead of trial and error, and initially I'll need a tune for the altitude like has been mentioned.
The car looks good man! Can't wait to see it in person.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do at Peterson actually, haha. I've been told my shop there is pretty small, and it doesn't seem like they would send 3 people of my rank to the same small shop but whatever, I'm certainly not complaining, haha. And I don't drink at all, never have, but that doesn't mean I won't hang out with people that do drink. I'll just be DD. And everyone cheers, HAHAHA.

Well I will definitely look for you, I'm sure Et3rNal will too but I didn't want to speak for him, haha. I love old school cars too. There is a '73 RX-3 nearby in NC, original owner, in real good shape, and last time I talked to him he was trying to sell it for around $6000. I just don't have the money or I'd be all over it. He was having some battery charging problems with it too though.
I look forward to meeting you all.

Plenty of dsm's,civic's,crx's, integra's, mustangs, camero's, firebirds, occasional porsche's and vettes.just the usual racing scene, plenty of odd ***** though, tuners definitely out number the domestics. not may mazda's, a few guys with 7's that are on here. there is a stupid crowd, aswell as the smart ones. there is a place over the summer that a huge car show goes down on saturdays if the weather holds out.

woooooohooooo..... I found my dd!!!!
wow things sound awesome, I to want be able to tune my own car, I have the datalogit and everything just am to afraid of premature detonation. I'm not a big street racer either, my car is extremely dangerous on the road. But handled carefuly its still fun to drive on the street.
I seriously think that my fd will not come out of the garage in the winter time, probaly just make it project months for me till spring. Leaves more time for snowboarding anyway, thats if I can manage to get a christmas in the states, this is my 4th spent in Iraq in a row. But on a lighter not merry christmas guys!

^Merry Christmas to you too! This is my first Christmas in the desert but it's my buddy's third, haha.
I don't have a datalogit yet, and I'm dreading spending the money on one, but I gotta have it so... I'm eventually gonna run water injection to fight detonation, I just don't have the time or money to set it up when I get back this time. I've been thinking more about snowboarding and I really wanna try it now. Damn I can't wait to get to Colorado.

hmm, I wonder if we could get enough people in colorado springs to get a steve kan tuning session out there.
Dyno Tuning Prices
$350 - Stock Turbo up to 12psi of boost (pump gas only) 1 map
$400 - Aftermarket Turbo up to 16psi of boost (pump gas only) 1 map
$450 - Aftermarket Turbo from 16psi - 25psi of boost (race gas and/or auxiliary injection only) 1 map
$600 - Aftermarket Turbo up to 25psi of boost (pump gas and race gas tune) 2 maps
And we would need 5 cars.... might be a possibility, also probably would have to find a shop with a dyno and good rates.... or maybe just do street tuning idk
Yeah I think water injection is the way to go, i've been eyeing the aem system of rx7store.net for a while i'm just concerned about my ability to tune it correctly.
ps. snowboarding is the **** keep thinking about it

Hell yeah I'd kill for a Steve Kan tuning session. There is one in St. Louis in March I think, and I thought about trying to get the car rebuilt and back there in time when I'm home on leave (my hometown is near STL), but I don't think I'm gonna make it. Besides, having a session in CO would ensure we have it tuned for the correct altitude.
I haven't really picked out a water injection system yet, but I'm still thinking about it. I'm also worried about tuning it.
The only thing I worry about with snowboarding is the money I spend getting into it being taken away from the car, HAHA.

lol yeah anything that takes money away from the car sucks. but not snowboarding. Theres a shop i found in co spings that charges $95 an hour for tuning, can maybe talk them down on a group discount for a tuning session, and you are right the reason I was thinking about having steve come to us is because of the altitude. We'll have to really push though I think to find 5 people though, due to the high cost, well for me anyway, $600 plus tuning time- altleast 2 hours

Oh that's cool, I hope they're good at tuning. I REALLY want to learn how to tune it well myself though. Goes back to the whole "give a man a fish vs. teach a man to fish" thing, haha. You guys doing anything special for Christmas up there? We're watching Band of Brothers today. Only on the big holidays have we taken a break, and today we've even done alot of work in between episodes. Just for you guys that think we're blowing away your tax money, HAHA.

Check out this page for houses in Colorado Springs. If you are at the air force base you will probable want to stay in the N/E area.
There are a few areas in the springs that you wouldn't want to leave you car outside at night.

no they don't tune, thats just to rent the dyno... so it would be if we had steve come up.... Still the problem would lie in finding 3 more people.
my christmas sucked, we lost a guy on christmas so we were on como black out the last 2 days, so I couldn't even call home. Just sat in the tent and hated life, and dreamed of fd's.
hey Chris, for those homes what would be a good area for carson?

I am not that knowagable on the Carson area.
Broadmoor area is nice.
You will want to stay away from prospect lake area and areas of fountain, gang areas.
The gangs in colorado springs don't compare to other larger cities but they are there non the less.
There are nice areas around there. Can someone else help with this area?

Hey it's cool, I understand.
That's a good idea for buying a house, get your own feel for the area and then decide. I wouldn't mind getting just a big piece of land, like the one I posted above, and build a big *** barn, haha.

Easy with Fountain!
I been in Fountain for about 14 years and love it, Used to be some gang activities back in the early 90's not much now. I just bought my 4th property! it's is affordable for sure.
The Broadmoor? if you got at least over $800,000.00 for a house go for it!
When you get here you get a good feel.
The bad news is housing here in Co Springs is very expensive, a house that sold 10 years ago for $80-$90,000. goes for $180,00 plus!!! so plan for mortgage payment over $1,200.00
Nice neighborhood? sorry no projects cars, campers or boats on your lot, the only time you can have the garage door open is to pull the car out!
About the tuning, get with MichaelB145 he was working on getting Brian from BDC to come up in the springs time.
Good luck with your search, be safe and thanks for serving our country!

^Thank YOU for YOUR service!
Damn that sucks. We can do maintenance INSIDE the garage right? That's how I do it now, but I don't think they are so strict where I am so I'm not sure how I'm going to handle it when I get out there.
Thanks for all the info!

Oh an unfinished basement had definitely crossed my mind before, haha. It could be finished too though...I was cleaning my engine in the living room before I deployed, haha.
I will check with HOA before I sign though, good call. Thanks!

^Oh you don't have to stop spending money on the FD. I bought a house a couple months after I got the FD and I've still been spending money on the car. Although it's probably not been as much as you've spent (comparing your setup to mine haha) and I've had roommates to help out, but still. I just thought about this, maybe we should just get a place together, something with a 2-car garage so both our FDs will have a home, and we won't even have to travel to help each other out. We'll have to watch each other like a hawk to make sure no unauthorized parts swapping occurs though, hahaha.
Although I have heard house prices in the Springs are ridiculous.
I sent links to a few houses to my Maintenance Officer (he's from CO Springs) and he sent them to a family member that still lives out there. She said the ones I was looking at, that neighborhood was having water issues or something and water was going to be expensive as hell. She said to look at areas like Fountain and Security, but he said to skip Security and look just at Fountain. So RotorRican, I may be coming your way if I can afford something out there, haha.
Anyone have input on this?
