No? I take it nobody knows the guy w/ the rotary powered truck? I know Tommy does.. well if anyone knows him let him know about the tuning date! It would be nice not to have to pay the extra 100.

I got my car running last night! How is everybody else coming along???

10AE RE Conversion w/T04R progress

I bought 1600cc secondary injectors, but they don't fit the stock RE fuel rail. So back to RX-7 Store for rail, aeromotive FR, and rest of the stuff. They should be here this week. Car is on my trailer going to the welder tomorrow for the water to air piping refittment (word? spel?), O2 sensor bungs, and downpipe tweaking. The new single turbo bolted right up (thanks to Sean [rx7onfire]for doing all the work before he sold the whole turbo setup to me).
So I am probably two weeks out! We've never heard that before have we, ABQ RX-7 owners?

Good job! Is this the Gotham Racing built 13B-REW?

My rebuild is coming along nicely. All the parts are cleaned and ready for painting. I'm port matching the intake manifolds and the housings right now. I'm still waiting on my apex seals from Racing Beat, a rotor bearing from Mazdaspeed, and aux port sleeve inserts from Pineapple. I'm hoping to have everything back together by the end of next week.

Actually, the quote was not aimed just at you. A local mechanic and the ghetto nerd were heard to use that phrase for a long time. It became an ABQ RX-7 saying that validated the manana lack of urgency. You just fell into the trap.

So how do we want to cover the dyno expenses?
Its 500 for the day, so do we want to split it evenly between the three of us which is like $167/person or do we want to split it some other way (like per hour? per 1/4 day?) so its "fair" since the cars are going to take different amounts of time each. Either way is fine w/ me I just want to have it set-up so we all know how we're paying and it doesn't become an issue.

I don't mind dividing the cost three ways. I'll probably have as much to tune as everyone else if not a little more since I have tunable intake and exhaust.

The only thing that can stop me now is if something is broken that I wouldn't be able to find out any other way than putting some power through it. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can at least get a few miles out of it before that.

is it running well enough to drive around no boost low rpm just to make sure everything seems to be functioning well?

My rebuild came to a grinding halt when I dropped a corner seal spring into the engine. I'm trying again tomorrow. Still have to break the engine in, but I'm still very hopeful for next weekend's tune!

Wink 10AE RE Conversion w/T04R progress

I trailer'd my car back from the welder. Fantastic job fitting the water-to-air piping to the new single turbo. Received my 2ndary injector kit with rail, fuel pressure regulator, and rest of the stuff. Working on it this weekend. Hoping to kidnap Sean next week to check everything out and start. Mike L. has the same fuel setup and Microtech 8, so he has a map. I think I am on track unless there is another surprise.

I should be available. I am going to play lake but not until sat. night. My attempts to get ahold of vince have been unsuccessful, so give me a call.

In case you didn't see, I am trying to let the whole car go cheap if someone is interested. I would let a local take her home for 5k!!!!!!!

Yes street tuning will be Sunday. I believe Steves flight is sunday evening so morning would probably be best (also to beat the heat) You'll be the only one street tuning If I understand correctly so its really up to you. Let me know where you want to meet up with Steve and when and we can meet there.

I have a wedding to attend saturday afternoon. I'm not too worried about the timing, but if at all possible, I'd like to get out earlier rather than later. Being unregistered, uninsured, and without functional brake lights, turn signals, headlights and a 3 rotor with a 4-inch straight through exhaust, I'm seriously contemplating tow-truckin to and from the dyno. Anyone got any hook ups with a tow truck?

rx7store.net sent me a REW 2ndary fuel rail instead of a Cosmo for the RE. They are shipping KGPARTS fuel rails, so I called them, the source. Kevin hooked me up with the right one and overnighted it Be here tomorrow afternoon. Still have to deal with rx7store and the wrong rail, but that's for another day. Putting it all together tomorrow evening with Sean looking over Vince's shoulder. Maybe even start it We'll see. I wish I still had 2 weeks!

Candy - we are going to work out of Vince's shop off Central and Louisiana for the street tune. I'll PM you and Steve with directions and cell phone numbers. Sat. early AM when it's cool.

That's fine with me. I'd like to go last if nobody has a problem with that.

Definitely tow it...unfortunately I don't have any tow hookups. What about just towing it with a truck and rope?

It never ceases to amaze me how even the simplest things can go wrong. Good luck with your fuel system, and be safe out there on Sunday .

My rebuild is complete, and everything is back together. I'm having problems starting the motor though. If it doesn't come together by Thursday afternoon, I've got a backup plan so I should still be good to go by Saturday.
