NM Any Interests in another Steve Kan tuning session?

There are a few people (3 I believe) in El Paso interested in having him coming out, I personally need him to tune my new motor. Just wondering if there are any ABQ/NM rotary owners that are interested, or if we took care of everyone already during the summer. Depending on Steve's schedule we are looking at late april-ish for the date, and they already have a dyno set-up in El Paso for 1,000 for the day. So the more people we get the cheaper the dyno costs between everyone
5 people= $200 dyno costs on top of tuning
7 people = about $145 dyno costs on top of tuning
you get the idea

any one interested?

Perhaps you can get a discount since your setup isn't ignition tunable? Not sure if Steve does stuff like that, just throwin ideas out there.

It depends on your set-up. I'll find the exact prices but depending on if you're tuning stock twins, or a single turbo on pump gas, or a single turbo on pump & race gas I believe it goes somewhere from 400 up to 600 for tuning.

$350 - Stock turbo up to 12psi of boost (pump gas only) 1 map
$400 - aftermarket turbo up to 16psi of boost (pump gas only) 1 map
$450 - aftermarket turbo from 16psi - 25psi of boost (race gas and/or auxiliary injection only) 1 map
$600 - aftermarket turbo up to 25psi of boost (pump gas and race gas tune) 2 maps

let me know if you are still interested, and if late April will work, or if a different date would be better, we will try and get it together to work best for everyone.

Ha! I've got a NA S5 FC with Rtek ecu, header to (mostly) open exhaust, and cold air intake so none of these options apply to my setup. There could be around 40 hp in ignition tuning though. Since Steve understands the rotary's ignition limits, I think he's the man for the job. My brother mentioned that Steve's NA tune is the least expensive, but I can't find that information anywhere.

The SCCA Pan-Am region is having their fifth event the weekend of April 19 and 20. This weekend would be ideal for me and my brother. Tune Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, and race Saturday and Sunday. It would also provide immediate feedback on the quality of the tune (which should be an excellent tune anyway).

My twins are toast, so am going single. Steve needs to tune that.
Let me know if this is going to happen and when.

If there is more interest from the ppl here in abq/RR we can have the rio rancho guys come up here. I didn't think there would be more then maybe one other person besides myself. I'll talk to steve and find out what an n/a tune costs and what date works for him.

Chuckie, When will you be ready for him to come out? From what I read in the CO tuning thread I think Steve is available sometime in may.

Normally, any standalone ECU will be $350. However, the Rtek is a semi piggyback, I can do it for $300. I don't know how much timing adjustment you can do with the Rtek since it is still relying mostly on the stock ECU parameters but if there are enough parameters for adjustment, you should be able to see approx 180-190rwhp in a N/A car (assuming the engine is heathly)

$300 sounds great, as does the possibility of 180-190rwhp. The engine is in good shape, and according to the website the Rtek allows the tuner to change the actual ignition maps in the ecu.

Ok so I need some "for sures" to set things up.
Who is in FOR SURE? add your name to the list
I can work out the details once I know who is in (if there are more then 2 of us in ABQ interested, we will have the guys in El Paso come up here) I'll also work out a date with Steve once I know we have enough people, I think he is schedualed into late May now.

Is this going to be in Albuquerque, or El Paso?

I might be down but I am not so sure about tuning at the elevation of Albuquerque when I live in Phoenix. I will have to send Steve a PM and see. The Phoenix guys excluded me AGAIN when they brought Steve out last weekend without mentioning it. So I am still in the market for a tune.

We will see what happens.
