Sorry for butting in but can you get FD Harnesses already made up or do you need to Mod the Motech Harness into the stocker?
I need a EMS at the moment and have been put off the PFC so my options would be a Microtech or Motech? TBH i'm thinking along the lines the Motech is a more stable EMS so may be better spending the extra??
The only thing is i'm a little put off using a stock Harness? I don't know about every one else but mine are getting brital and already damaged two on my last rebuild so i'd have to buy a new stock loom to cut the Plugs off??
Also is the M600 the one to go for on a Turbo'd 13b FD?
Cheers.

One of my main original reasons to going to standalone, but not a PFC was my brittle stock wiring harness.
You don't need an M600 to run a turbo FD. An M2R, M4, or M400 will run it as well. The M2R is more in the league (price and performance) of the microtech and haltech. I wouldn't necessarily reccommend a MX00 series ECU unless you are very serious about the performance of the ECU.

Thanx but got one who are tuning the motor, but was just woundering about positiv and negativ experiences on running Motec vs other brands..

Take a look at the Pectel SQ6. It is a BEAST of an ECU in terms of hardware, features, and datalogging. It has a lot of advantages over the M800. Pricing is comparable, but it includes more standard features like 2 built in widebands, 2 built in egts, traction control, and lots of logging memory.

I probably will run the Motec system, because he who is going to map the motor has tuned motors whit motec before..
Don`t think he has ever done Pectel, and I don`t want to be the one paying for him to "try" to map it.. If u see what I trying to say..

You live in CA? There has to be a zillion dealers on the west coast. You do not need to go to a rotary shop. You would probably be better off going to a non-rotary shop actually. The guys in the Porsche/BMW world seem to understand the fundamentals a lot better than most but not all of the mail order turned tuner shops currently in our community. Go to Motec USA and ask for dealer in your area.
Keep in mind the price of the ECU does not include the harness. I would budget another $700 in materials and $1,000+ in labor for that. Also, you will probably want to unlock some of the options (wideband ect) and each one costs a few hundred. The M2R unit is cheaper, but it is based on the previous generation units. I think it is worth getting an M400 or M600 instead.

yea im looking at the m400, but im not worried about labor..ill be doing the wiring....i wont be doing the tuning...but i am not cheaping out on a tuner for i think the one whos doing the tune decides whether your engine lives or not (assuming everthing else is done correctly)
