WI/IL Bong Meet Version 2.0
Who: anyone, and everyone with a rotary, or any other kind of modified car
What: meet, eat, drink liquids of sorts.
When: Sat, Aug 15th, @ Noon.
Where: Richard Bong Recreational park http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/parks/specific/bong/ http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie...=n&tab=wl&um=1
Why: because its summer, and this is what your supposed to do in the summer.
if you click on the google maps link, the park is near Rt45, and Rt142, (or select location "C" on the left side of the screen)
feel free to bring some stuff to eat or drink. (all garbage is "carry in, carry out" there are no dumpster's or garbage cans in the park)
there is a ($7 for WI residents, $10 for non WI residents) motor vehicle admission fee for every vehicle entering the park, it is a full day pass.
more info on the admission:
http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/parks/fees/
this is the V2.0 Bong meet, better planned, with more of an advanced notice for everyone...this time there shouldn't be any excuses for not being able to make it.
feel free to copy and paste the above info, and post it on another forum that you think will bring some cool people, and cool cars to the meet.

well ok...
to get it streetable...
brakes need to be re-bled starting with a bench bleed (that i can take care of)
bad U-joint - so i need a drive shaft.
has a vacuum leak somewhere and a few hoses missing that i need to find where they need to go.
i need to try some sort of engine clean out (carbon build up)
4 new tires
shifter bushing is shot
needs a stereo and speakers
needs a headlight switch and the harness
install the exhaust
yeah... its small stuff... and i do have a month and a half to do it. but my garage is occupied by wood working stuff until i finish this desk.

installing the exhaust is easy
4 new tires are easy (craigslist)
bleeding the brakes is easy
driveshafts are cheap
cleaning carbon is easy
vacuum leak seems to be the toughest problem, but not hard.
if you can find cheap tires, and a good driveshaft...we can do all that in 1 day.
the rest of the stuff is stuff you can do over time...they dont need to be done to get your car to the meet.
what size tires do you need?
you need an NA driveshaft?

205/60/15. the tires on it now have decent tread... but there are some strange marks in the rubber that i just dont trust (they look like someone took a torch to the tire)
yes, i do need a N/a drive shaft. i will need a turbo one eventually, but thats a long ways away.
not too keen on short shifters... if its anything like the honda short shifters ive tried... then no.
like i said (i think i did anyways), i would have A LOT of this done but my garage is filled with computer desk.
BTW, if anyone needs a 'U' shaped 2-piece desk... let me know. $50
edit: the craigslist link posted mentions S5 driveshafts... any difference between the S4/S5 shafts?

sorry about that, mazdatrix says they are different, ill do a quick search on these forums.
there are 205-50-15 RT615 azenis on milwaukee graigslist for $300 obo...they were used for one auto-x at miller park.
the short shifters for FC's are nothing like short shifters for Honda's.
i live my mazdatrix short shifter, and i hated short shofters in Honda's, i rocked the OEM Dual bend DC2 shifter in my EG.

its similar to stock, but the shift **** sits lower. trust me man, i know what your talking about with honda short shifters, the Dc short shifter was like a half inch forward, and half inch back. my mazda trix is about 1.75"-2.25" (your whole arm moves forward, you cant just flick your wrist)
i just did a search on rx7club.com S4 and S5 NA driveshafts can be inter-changed.
