MN Steve Kan tuning in MN

We just completed a tuning session and 8 RX-7s were tuned at FNR Racing in Burnsville.

https://www.rx7club.com/midwest-rx-7-forum-32/steve-kan-tuning-mn-april-%40-fnr-racing-885191/

I'm trying to see how much interest we have in setting up another tuning event in the future. We will need at least five committed cars with deposits in.

I'm looking at this Fall 2010 or next Spring 2011.

Please post if you are interested and when you'd like it scheduled.

Thanx,

Ken

I'd be in for another tune. If you do it a map performance I can get a dsm or 2 as well.

If you can get DSMs then we can schedule MAP for them and any RX-7s that want to go there and any others that want to go to FNR.

Whatever it takes to get enough cars to tune to warrant Kan's trip to MN.

I like the Fall because the weather is cooler, but next Spring is okay too.

I have my Aquamist HFS-3 installed and am working on that. I have a Haltech PS1000 and will work on that in a few weeks.

Well I guess FNR racing was in business for one year and that is over.

Do we have enough interest in Kan coming this October or next April?

I see us going to MAP like in 2009 and welcoming RX-7s RX-8s, DSMs and WRXs.

Kan can pretty much tune anything.

I should have my Haltech PS1000 ready for a 540whp atempt and Jered should have his 20B, GT4788 ready for a 1000whp attempt.

Thanx,

Ken

Fnr racing is closed???? I was just there a few weeks ago to meet Bruce...

Anyway I would be interested but I'd like to find someone with more experience than me ( I'm a fairly new owner) to help me figure out if my car is in good health. I bought it used from a guy in Phoenix about a month ago and it has some mods on it already. Any help on where to go now?

I would like to get my car tuned, but an 8 hour drive seems like a long way. Maybe in the spring.

Doofy and a few others are a ways from MN, would anyone be willing to meet in the middle? There is a dyno in Cedar Rapids Iowa, that Steve has tuned on before. I set up the last tune in Iowa and would do it again if everyone wants to.

Lots of people are going down to Cedar Falls for the Midway Shootout drag racing on the last weekend in September.

Jered and I might go to it. Jered is trying for 1000whp on his 20B, new GT4708 turbo.

I'd be interested in info on the shop with the dyno in Cedar Falls. I'd like to contact them.

wow, I guess I wasn't expecting that. dyno rates in my town are 100+ per hour.

Kan's Fee + dyno + hotel + gas = at least $1,000. Seems expensive to me for getting a tune.

You must be fairly new to high boost RX-7s.

They are $$$ PITS.

Yup... although I wouldn't call the factory twins high boost.

Gotta pay to play.
Kan= 350
Dyno= 200
550 plus whatever you spend of hotel and fuel, you should come in a less then a 1000.

Ken the dyno is in Center Point, about 30 min south of Cedar Falls.

He has a superflow dyno, which is an eddy current system.

It turns out Jered's 20b and my car will not be ready for the end of September Midway Shootout.

If you want to explore it further it's up to you.

Otherwise I'm looking for people for Kan tuning in MN either this late October or early next April.

Thanx,

Ken

If this is still in the works for next spring, I am in. I have a car steve has tuned before, that needs a few tweaks for some mods I made. Keep me in the loop as Cedar Rapids is only 2.5 hrs from me.

I am making a bunch of changes to my car soon (turbos/exhaust/EBC), so I will need a good tune. If I can't find anything closer I'll have to drive up there.
