Nope, Dad is right------but if reliability were an issue no-one ever drive any car. We have all seen too many 2005 BMWs, Audis etc on the side of the road and thought, hmmm and that's a brand new car........ C'mon Dad, where better to break down than in the middle of a bunch of gearheads with the same kind of car...experience diagnosing the problems fixing them AND carrying all the TOOLS and probably a few spare parts.

Actually, Jeff is right. If the car isn't very reliable you should not think about driving it that far.
But on his side note he is also correct that if it were to breakdown with the pack of cars from STL at least there'd be people there that could help. Which is always the greatest thing about the caravans that head on out. Everyone is a fellow rotary owner and generally concerned and willing to help.
Can't wait to see everyone again in 9 days.
Take another position with your Dad... have him come with you.

Yup, I still have it. Getting there quickly should not be a problem.
I've got a pair of walkie talkies too. So if anyone needs one, I have an extra.

I have an idea, how about making a list ... so somebody can track at the caravan, nobody gets left behind. Looks like there will be 2 caravans, no way am I leaving at 9am. I'll probably be leaving from DaVinci around 1-2pm.
Do this, list screenname / real name / car you'll be driving / early or late DaVinci caravan / cell #
I'll keep track of all the late guys, somebody else can keep track of the early guys. And have you all registered for the event?

So the V1 will be helpful for me but not for anyone out ahead...unless we can stay in comm.
Same thing for you Chris... Best case scenario is if everyone in the group has walkies tuned to the same channel.

I will be joining the later caravan if possible.....or just heading out solo, going to be on a trailer anyways......and I am not leaving Columbia at 6:30am to get to Davinci by 9am. Also, if any of the KC guys are coming....they won't be leaving at 4:30am to be there either I assume. If KC wants to meet up in Columbia around 11:00am-12:00pm...then I can join up with them and we can meet up with the later group leaving STL around 1:00pm-2:00pm.
