MI Rebuilt/Reman motors in Michigan?

As spring nears I'm getting a horrible itch to get my 7 back in running shape. I desperately need either a re-manufactured motor, or someone in West Michigan or Lansing who knows what there doing to rebuild mine for me. I would attempt the rebuild myself, but lack the time with 25 hours of work a week, school, girlfriend, etc, and I don't have the space to do it at school either. I'm planning on pulling the blown motor out next week on spring break, and If I could have a lead on a new motor, or a reliable re-builder by then (preferably that doesn't involve me shipping across country), I would be extremely grateful. If all else fails, I'm considering Banzai, I know they do good work, but thats a drive, and I don't know how long that would leave me motor-less.

The motor is a S5 90 NA. I blew an apex seal (as far as i can tell) last summer. The motor probably ran for five minutes totally after the suspected blow out, only long enough to put it on a car dolly and have it hauled home. So hopefully the rotors and housing are fine.

If anyone knows anyone or any company in GR or Lansing area who can help me out, please let me know!

Also on another note, apparently some place called Mitch's Auto Parts in Detroit sells reman's with a 1yr warranty. Anyone know anything about that?

Try posting a WTB thread in 2nd Gen Parts if you have not done that yet. You will get some interest I am sure of.

Good luck.

Are you sure the motor is blown? There are locals in GR that could verify this for you. Try posting on the Michigan forum.

I've heard good things about Banzai Racing...

If you want a good rebuild check out Banzai Racing. Great work and fair price.
